A Korth Korean that fled Kim Jong-un’s dictatorship has an urgent message for Donald Trump, according to Washington Times, which obtained a letter warning from the defector.
The defector claims Trump is being tricked by Kim.
North Korea will never denuclearize, the defector writes.
“As long as Kim Jong-un remains in power, denuclearization of North Korea is permanently impossible because [Mr. Kim] regards nuclear weapons as the last means to defend his survival,” the defector warned Trump, who has been negotiating a deal to denuclearize the country.
In the past, the White House has hit North Korea with stiff sanctions. But the defector writes that more sanctions of North Korea are necessary.
“You have stopped Kim Jong-un from launching missiles and conducting nuclear tests, but he is still mounting nuclear threats behind the scenes of dialogue and is attempting to take advantage of the relationship with you.”
And the defector also wrote that the only way to repair matters with Jong-un and North Korea is through “psychological warfare.”
“The most effective way to resolve the North Korean issue is to conduct psychological warfare operations. It can have the same power as a nuclear bomb. It is also an ideal way to get North Koreans to solve their own problems by themselves.”
According to The Washington Times, sources have been confirmed that say the letter was delivered to White House policy advisers.
Trump and the North Korean leader have had an up and down relationship in 2019, but both leaders have publicly insisted that they’d like to get a deal done to resolve the tension between the two nations.
As the new year approaches, they’ve made history in their negotiating, with Trump having become the first U.S. president to set foot on the Demilitarized Zone separated North and South Korea in June.
