From the moment she got sworn in as vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris could hardly hide her thirst for former President Joe Biden to step aside and let her make history as the first black female president.
Joe decided to stick around for years, despite obviously cognitive problems that challenged his mental competence and ability to protect the American people — and an explosive new book reveals that Kamala Harris resorted to extreme measures to pave the way for his exit.
Harris had plans sketched out, in writing, detailing exactly how she planned to replace him as president, by any means necessary.
Kamala had reason to fear what would happen if Joe Biden remained president.
Investigative journalists Amie Parnes and Jonathan A.P. Allen sketch out the whole sordid story of Biden’s incompetence, and the Democrats’ intense efforts to keep it under wraps, in their new book, Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House.
Once, President Joe Biden “had no idea” who he was getting ready to talk to when Congressman Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., showed up at the White House for a meeting. (To be fair, no one knows Swalwell as well as Fang Fang.)
The Biden White House team “had a resident makeup artist on hand all the time — not just to make him up to enhance his appearance in case he goes on television but to mask the shell that he had become.”
But sometimes, Biden would anger his makeup designers and gaggle of handlers by letting them put him through the extensive makeover necessary to transform his cadaver-like appearance into the semblance of a functional human being, then cancel all his appearances, appointments, and responsibilities by “calling a lid” for the whole day.
Biden’s health was so bad that Harris believed Biden wouldn’t need to resign for her to become president.
“By 2023, Joe Biden’s allies were quietly preparing for…his death in office,” Fight records—and Kamala Harris had big plans for the day.
Kamala’s communications director believed, if Joe Biden ever died, “there was no way that … people would support her.” In, in their book they “detail how he came into that role” with a plan to force Kamala down America’s throat.
The veep’s “communications director would carry around this spreadsheet of Republican judges, because he felt almost like she had to be validated in that moment, and only a Republican judge could really swear her in,” explained Parnes.
If a Republican swears her into office, how could the GOP object, she thought?
Parnes agreed the arrangement seemed “pretty unprecedented.”

The book also talks about the fateful events leading to Biden’s being forced to “voluntarily” suspend his 2024 presidential campaign…and how he might have avoided the whole thing if he had listened to a good friend.
Fight explains how Nancy Pelosi tried to stop Biden from making the biggest mistake of his political career: debating President Donald Trump on June 27—but Joe wouldn’t listen.
Pelosi went to him and tried to play to his ego, saying, ‘You shouldn’t lower yourself, you shouldn’t lower the presidency to Donald Trump,’” Allen told Politico reporter Tara Palmieri. “She kind of lays it on thick with Biden and says, ‘This is going to lower you’ because she knows that might appeal to him.”
Pelosi knew the most effective tactic she could take was appealing to Biden’s vanity, but she wasn’t under any delusions about the outcome. “If she thought Biden was going to beat Donald Trump in a debate, she would have been telling him to debate,” said Pelosi.
But Biden’s arrogance proved his undoing.
“Joe Biden wanted to debate really badly,” Allen continued. “He wanted this fight. He relished it. You’ve heard Biden before say things like ‘I want to meet him out behind the schoolyard.’ He really wanted to debate.”
Biden met Trump on the battleground of ideas—and it looked like Waterloo, Little Big Horn, and Hiroshima rolled into one.
Parnes and Allen wrote what we’ve all known: Biden’s decision to step down as the Democratic Party presidential nominee after his June debate performance against Donald Trump “was forced on him by Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi”—but they wanted an open primary.
Obama “didn’t have any faith in” Kamala, Allen told Politico.
As The Horn has reported, the kingmaker who put Biden over-the-top in the 2020 South Carolina primary—Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C.—heavily lobbied the president to endorse Harris right away, tipping him off to the Obamas’ plans for an open convention.
Kamala Harris also personally called Biden, the man she’d been conspiring against for four years, and begged him for his backing.
“Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi want an open primary; you got to endorse me,” she told him.
For a second, the sparkle that filled Biden’s eyes back when he was a 29-year-old U.S. senator lit up the room—and this was no makeup trick.
Biden decided to throw his full support behind Kamala Harris “just to screw Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama,” Parnes and Allen wrote.
Even though she tried desperately to force him out of office and waited patiently for him to die, in the end Joe Biden was Kamala Harris’ biggest supporter—because he knew endorsing Kamala would be his greatest revenge. And she would just be a tool in his bid to settle an old political score.
