After months of being on the defensive, Hillary Clinton thought she had found the perfect way to break Donald Trump’s connection with the voters: accuse him of lying about his multi-million dollar donation to veterans’ charities.
She went all out this week, hiring more than a dozen veterans to protest outside Trump Tower and demanding the media press Trump about whether he ever donated the proceeds of his January 28 fundraiser in Iowa to vets.
But the attack ricocheted.
The only thing it exposed is the fact that Donald Trump gave more than 50 times as much money to America’s fighting men and women in one night than Hillary Clinton did in eight years.
In fact, over the past few years Clinton apparently has given ZERO to veterans’ charities. That’s especially curious — and insulting — given that Clinton was planning a presidential run and knew that her tax records would be released.
In an unforgettable press conference on Tuesday, in between calling reporters “dishonest” and “a sleaze,” Mr. Trump had an admission to make. He had fallen just shy of the $6 million in donations to vets he had previously announced. Instead, he collected $5.6 million for America’s fighting men and women – including $1 million of his own money.
“Find out how much Hillary Clinton’s given to the veterans,” Trump challenged reporters. “Nothing.”
As it turns out, it wasn’t quite nothing – but not by much.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign told the New York Times on Wednesday she had donated a paltry $105,000 to veterans groups between 2006 and 2012. They did not document any donations since.
The Clintons are reportedly worth at least $110 million.
These funds came, not from the Clinton Foundation – which Wall Street analyst Charles Ortel called a “charity fraud” – but from the smaller Clinton Family Foundation.
That’s less than two percent of what Donald Trump donated to vets in one fundraiser.
In fact, at least nine of the grants he made to 41 veterans groups from the Iowa fundraiser exceeded the $110,000 Clinton contributed to vets over eight years.
That doesn’t include tens of thousands of dollars the Donald J. Trump Foundation has given vets in the last few years on its own.
Clearly on the defensive on CNN, Hillary told Jake Tapper that “of course” she had “given money to veterans charities,” and that she and John McCain had raised money for fallen veterans – the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund – which Mr. Trump also gave $175,000. She pointed to votes she had taken as a senator that “increased benefits to veterans and their families.”
But combat veterans have a keen sense for sizing up someone quickly deciding whether that person is friend or foe. And they know exactly where Hillary Clinton stands.
In his 1969 draft letter, Bill Clinton confessed to “loathing the military.” He cut defense spending by roughly 25 percent – while increasing the useless skirmishes and “peacekeeping actions” Americans fought in Somalia, Haiti, and Serbia, among others.
If anything, Hillary is more hawkish and more ideological than Bill.
Trump, who attended military school, said he always felt a close kinship with enlisted men. His budget proposal would give them the tools and freedom to do their job. And his foreign policy would assure they weren’t sent into harm’s way unnecessarily.
The dollar figures are just one more illustration of which candidate is really on the veterans’ side.

She said others did it that’s why she did it. So it seems even if it is wrong, in her opinion it is right if someone else did it.
5. While Secretary of State six billion dollars went missing from the State Department! That is taxpayer money, I am a taxpayer and I want to know where my money is!

Briefly, Davy had voted in favor of a gov’t grant to help some people out of the US Treasury – when there’s ZERO Constitutional authority to do so. He nearly lost his position as a Kentucky Congressman for so doing, ’til he happened to meet up with one Horatio Bunce who told him why he’d not vote for him again. It’s a good story, and IMO should be mandatory reading for every officeholder, especially CongressCretins. At one point in the tale, Crockett noted that the vast majority of his fellows were well-able to afford to donate out of their own pockets the sum requested, but refused to do so, preferring instead to raid the Treasury. It’s an old story, ain’t it?

You can’t compare what a billionaire gives to charity with someone who is not as rich as Trump. If Trump gave $1 million of his own money to veterans, that amounts to 1/50th of 1% of his $5 billion net worth ($1,000,000 / $5,000,000,000 = .0002). Clinton gave about 1/10th of 1% of her net worth ($105,000 / $110,000,000 = .00095). So, as a percentage of net worth, Clinton gave 5 times as much as Trump.

John, the value of the Clinton Foundation is close to $250 Million Dollars and that is not their only foundation (they have several others with unidentified values). Bill’s personal wealth is listed as $80 Million dollars and Hillary’s is listed as $110 Million dollars and that doesn’t include the Millions that have been funneled into her campaign from Wall Street and big corporations. Their daughter works for the Clinton Foundation and there is conflicting information but one source said Chelsea started out making $3 Million a year and a later source said she is making $8 Million a year now from the foundation. Trump actually earned his money. He worked for it and built an empire. The Clintons got their millions as payoffs for favors and information from huge corporations and foreign countries much of which was “white washed” as outrageos amounts of money for supposedly speeches and, oh, yes, money for pardons for many of the wealthy that were in jail for white collar crimes that Bill handed out at the end of his presidency and who knows what else they were paid for. Their foundations are jokes. Most of the money that goes through them is for lavish parties and private jets and huge salaries for their friends that they have made a part of their foundations. What has their foundation done for charity? Who have they contributed money to other than theirselves. Only a tiny percent of their foundation money has gone to charitable organizations which as I said, they have really NEVER worked for and you want to compare her $105,000 over the last 6 years to Trump’s $1 Million just this year to Vets. You need to do some serious research and some soul searching.

I have helped the Salvation Army ringing bells in season. The largest contributor to charities are the middle income working people. These people know what it’s like to be short a few dollars; or maybe even dead broke. Most rich people’s donations to charity are deducted from tax debts. Nothing wrong with this. But if you’re in trouble, the working person will help you first.
