Michael Cohen, once Donald Trump’s personal attorney turned rival, reportedly has plans to flee the United States usnig a passport with a fake name.
In a recent interview on MSNBC’s “Deadline” with Nicolle Wallace, Cohen outlined his alleged plans to flee the country, leaving his wife and children behind.
Cohen said he is scared of his former boss, Trump, winning the 2024 presidential election.
“I’m out of here [if Trump wins],” Cohen told Wallace. “I’m already working on a foreign passport with a completely different name. I don’t know how it is going to work as far as dealing with my wife and my children. I certainly don’t want them moving to where I’m looking to go.”
Cohen served as a key witness in Trump’s Manhattan hush money trial that resulted in 34 felony convictions for falsifying business records, and expressed fear about potential consequences if Trump returns to the White House.

He extended his warning to others who have been critical of Trump.
“I don’t think you or the president of the MSNBC, Gen. Milley, Liz Cheney are safe. How many people has he turned around and said that these are people that I intend to go after if I have the ability to?” Cohen said.
The disbarred attorney’s relationship with Trump has been rocky. After years of friendship, Cohen turned against his former boss and admitted to lying under oath to “protect” Trump.
His testimony included details about the $130,000 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. This led to a three-year prison sentence in 2018 after he pleaded guilty to federal campaign finance charges and other crimes.
Cohen’s claims about obtaining a foreign passport under a different name raise alarming legal questions, as such actions likely violate U.S. law. The U.S. State Department explicitly prohibits applying for or obtaining a passport using false information.
The former lawyer also expressed concern about a recent Supreme Court decision on presidential immunity, claiming, “Now he thinks it is: ‘Not only can I do whatever I want. But I can’t even be prosecuted.’ It’s a get-out-of-jail-free card solely for the president.”
Asked by Cohen would leave the country he said, “I have no choice.”
