Rapper Nicki Minaj sparked an online firestorm on Sunday after one of her first social media posts since coming out “full MAGA” went viral.
Minaj questioned why requiring voter identification remains controversial in the United States — and polling data shows a strong majority of Americans, across party lines, agree.
Voter ID laws should be national requirement for federal elections.
“What sensible forward thinking cutting edge leading nation is having a DEBATE on whether or not there should be VOTER ID?!?!!!! Like?!?!? They’re actually fighting NOT to have ppl present ID while voting for your leaders!!!!! Do you get it?!?!!!! Do you get it now?!?!!!” Minaj wrote on X.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna responded to the post, writing, “Ty” [Thank you.]
The Republican National Committee responded as well.
Take a look —
The American people agree with you, @NICKIMINAJ!
