New videos have emerged documenting Russia’s continued, sustained bombardment of US-backed forces in Syria. And because of President Barack Obama’s unwillingness to act to secure American interests in the region, Russia’s Syrian allies have launched a devastating offensive to retake the country under the excuse of attacking ISIS.
Multiple reports have said the Russians are almost exclusively targeting US-backed rebels in the country.
According to the Associated Press, the Syrian chief-of-staff on Thursday declared a wide-ranging ground offensive by government forces, a day after Russian airstrikes and cruise missiles launched from the Caspian Sea backed Damascus’ multipronged advance into two Syrian provinces against US-backed troops.
In a rare televised speech, Gen. Ali Ayoub said the Russian strikes have facilitated an expanded military operation to eliminate “terrorists” — a term the Syrian government uses to refer to all armed opposition to President Bashar Assad.
The Syrian ground push got a boost after Russian warships launched the cruise missiles into Syria on Wednesday, bringing a major new military might into the war on the heels of Russian airstrikes that began last week.
Moscow insists it is only striking militants but the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Russian airstrikes in Idlib killed at least seven civilians on Wednesday. Previously, at least 40 civilians were killed on the first day of the Russian airstrikes last week.
Syrian activists said government troops pushed from areas they control in the rural part of Latakia, into rebel-held areas in the province that is the heartland of Assad’s family and Alawite minority group. Latakia is the third province to see ground operations since Wednesday.
The head of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdurrahman, said the troops moved from the village of Jorin into other parts of rural Latakia and Sahl al-Ghab, a vital plain that lies between Latakia, Hama and Idlib provinces.
Jaish al-Fatah, or the Army of Conquest, a coalition of rebel and militant groups that includes the Nusra Front, operates in the area. Foreign fighters, particularly from Asia and China’s ethnic Turkic Uighur minority, have also a strong presence in the area, according to Abdurrahman.
Lebanon’s Al-Manar TV, which belongs to the Shiite militant group Hezbollah and which fights alongside Assad’s troops in several areas in Syria, said the Syrian army seized control of al-Bahsa village in Hama on Thursday.
Wednesday’s ground offensive by the government focused on a number of towns and villages in rural Hama and northwestern Idlib province, sparking intense clashes. Activist Ahmad al-Ahmad said rebels, many of whom are US-backed, were able to repell government troops from at least one village.
Syria’s conflict, which began as an uprising against Assad in March 2011 but descended into a full-blown civil war, has so far killed 250,000 people, according to the United Nations.

I’m thinking that watching those videoes bombing so called “US supported” troops/terrorists was invigorating! This should have been cleaned up years ago and the Russians won’t give a rats ass what or how our liberal press feels like reporting it.

How about that ? Russia is assisting Syria to accomplish with foreign-supported insurgents the same thing that the USGov did in the US prior to the alias, BHObama.
The activity of Russia/Syria within Syria will no doubt open some job vacancies in the CIA, Israeli MOSSAD and Blackwater.

WHAT allies??? These are bad guys that obummer wants to be in charge. Just like in Egypt, he put his fellow terrorist in as ruler, but the Egyptian army would have no part of it. The pentagon has admitted that isis was started & funded by the US. If obummer says the sun is shining, grab your umbrella.

The Obama policy on Syria is one of confusion and weakness. While Americans have no problem electing weak, incompetent leaders Russians have chosen a different path. The Russian people have chosen a strong and effective leader who is busy advancing their country’s power.
Let us pray that our country can survive the Obama reign of error.

And not a word about innocent civilians being killed, no not a word. And they (Russians included) say what the US did in that regard is considered war crimes, crimes against humanity. Sounds a lot like liberals (the pot) calling conservatives (kettle) terrorists, racists and anti-American. There is a verse in the Bible (New Testament) about people being given over to a reprobate mind because they choose to believe lies over truth. I believe that’s what we’re seeing with the huge and growing divide.

I am surprised to find out that the Nursa Front is our ally.

Yes Russia is targeting ALL Terrorists even those funded and supported by the US to topple Assad. Go Russia! Since the US is refusing to address the terrorist problem in the middle East, I hope that Russia will eliminate every last one of these radical murderers who are causing a massive humanitarian crisis that will only get worse if these terrorists can’t be stopped.
