Putin grants citizenship and passport to WHICH American celebrity!?

President Vladimir Putin has given a Russian passport to U.S. action film star Steven Seagal, calling it a sign of a thaw in relations with the United States.

The 64-year old actor has been a regular visitor to Russia in recent years and has accompanied Putin to several martial arts events.

Seagal also has vocally defended the Russian leader’s policies and criticized the U.S. government.

After awarding Seagal citizenship through a presidential decree earlier this month, Putin hosted the actor at the Kremlin on Friday and handed him the passport.

Putin told Seagal he hopes the ceremony, which was shown on Russian state television, is “also a sign of a gradual normalization of the relations between the countries.”

The Associated Press contributed to this article.

I wonder if Seagal remembers where his fortune came from, not Russia, but the Hollywood promotions of his films. I would hope his hatred of America would cause him to not return to this country, and his films would be produced in Russia and kept there. How unthankful we get when we find wealth in money and fame. Not much of a loss in my life.

Please keep Steven there. We were on set one day watching Steven “act”. He was rude, obnoxious and screwed up every line. The director actually apologized to the rest of the cast while Segal was out in his trailer looking at himself in the mirror.
Please Mr. Putin, keep him in Russia.

Russia has a lot wrong with it, but their recent history is one of being invaded rather than being the invaders.
The Hawks and the Military Industrial complex in America and Europe all need bogey men to justify the astronomic spending on ‘defence’. I say pull all the troops home and use them to defend America’s borders. Let them spend their cash locally in the USA or the UK instead of it going to people who often don’t like us. Why are we firing $200000 missiles from $50000000 flying platforms to take out thirty year old Toyota trucks worth about a hundred bucks? The financial parasites are using the combined tax dollars of the Western world to further their agenda of one world government, and they don’t like the fact that Putin and a handful of others refuse to roll over and play ball.
As for Segal, I agree….let him stay inn Russia if he wants to. I can think of many others who should join him.

I used to really like Steven Segal and would have loved to have met him! I now find it disgusting that he would choose communism over America! Steven, just stay and die as an old man in Russia because you are NOT welcome back to America! BTW, I will burn your movies that I have!

Mr. Seagal has spoken up about our United States Government on numerous occasions and what he has said has been right on the money, before you condemn him maybe you should take a listen to what he has said.

I rather like Putin; but can’t stand Seagal. He never was a decent acter. This move merely imprsses the Russian audience. I know.of nobody it impresses here.
