House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was eager to share insults aimed at Republicans at Tuesday night’s Washington Press Club Foundation’s annual Congressional dinner — but she was not expecting the mockery she got in return.

After Pelosi got in her comedic bits on Trump that fell flat, Republicans took their turn to give Pelosi a piece of their minds.
“Nancy, it’s always great to break bread with you. I promise next time not to leave so many crumbs,” House Majority Whip Steve Scalise joked.
His dig was poking fun at her repeated remark that the thousand dollar bonuses Americans are receiving from President Donald Trump’s tax plan are just ‘crumbs’. Republicans have had a field day slamming Pelosi, who is a multimillionaire, for her insensitive comment.

“Let’s be serious — it’s tough to win legislation in Congress,” she began. “Many times, the process is as frozen as Nancy Pelosi’s face.”
