New York Senator Chuck Schumer just won’t go away — and now he’s actually encouraging government chaos!
It’s the worst case of hypocrisy in recent memory (an incredible feat considering how many politicians are in Washington, D.C.)
During the Republican movement to defund the Affordable Care Act in 2013, there was a 16-day shutdown of the government… and Democrats played the outrage card regularly during the ensuing political theater.
Schumer said on ABC’s “This Week”, “We could do the same thing on immigration reform. We believe strongly in immigration reform. We could say, ‘We’re shutting down the government, we’re not gonna raise the debt ceiling, until you pass immigration reform.”
He continued, “it would be government chaos.”
But now that the tables have turned and a Republican is in the White House, Schumer is encouraging the very same chaos he so strongly condemned four years ago.
The Horn News reported Friday that Schumer and 25 other Democrats sent a threatening letter to Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell earlier in the week, promising a government shutdown should Congress approve funding of President Donald Trump’s border wall.
An stunningly hypocritical statement for someone who called those encouraging a government shutdown, “zealots,” who are, “driving our economy off a cliff,” just four short years ago.
