An Ohio man pledged Tuesday to not let his “zombie Nativity” display die without a fight, while an apparent supporter dressed as a zombie was jailed for contempt of court.
Jasen Dixon pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of violating zoning rules in the Cincinnati suburb of Sycamore Township. He is due back in court Feb. 2 for a hearing on the case.
“It’s a First Amendment issue,” Dixon told reporters outside a Hamilton County a courtroom, saying he’s not worried about potentially having to pay fines that could total in the thousands.
He’s been at odds with township officials the past two Decembers about his front yard display and said he made changes to comply.
It features ghoulish figures including a sharp-toothed creature in the manger where baby Jesus would be in traditional Christmas Nativities. It has drawn some complaints, but also widespread attention.
Dixon said he took the display down after Christmas, but he told WCPO-TV he plans to bring it back “bigger and better” next holiday season.
Township officials have declared that they aren’t anti-zombie, but are enforcing rules about an improper “accessory use” structure in a front yard.
In other zombie-related developments in Cincinnati on Tuesday, a man who wore make-up and dressed as a zombie in an apparent show of support for Dixon was held in contempt of court for disrupting an unrelated civil trial.
Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Robert Ruehlman found John Thomer, 28, guilty of contempt that obstructed the administration of justice.
Specifically, the judge wrote, he “was growling into a megaphone and disrupted my trial.”
Ruehlman said Thomer was given three chances to stop and refused. He added that he had him arrested “not for the content of his speech,” but because of the loud delivery method by megaphone.
Thomer was ordered held for three days in Hamilton County Jail. No messages could be left for him there Tuesday.

LOLLOLLOLLOL!!!
With it not being politically correct to say Merry Christmas for offending some idiot, I find the zombie nativity quite refreshing – after all zombies are all the rage. At least some attention was being paid.
At first this zombie thing is appalling, then again if “one” knows their history well, Jesus was not born on the – Winter Solstice, the bithdate of Tammuz ..or his mother birthday Ishtar the pagan goddess which Easter is named for btw.. or Nimrods ..or Baal’s birthday. ..etc..etc. which is during the Christmas Holiday. “Read everything, talk to everyone, don’t believe anything unless you can verify it your own research.”. (R.I.P. Bill Cooper) The secret societies and their symbology, politics, is all around us and most “sheople” can’t, or won’t, see or hear (of) it. So called aliens are fallen angels. Ghosts are the spirits of the Watchers dead offspring…the souless ones, whose spirits roam the earth. They are the demons. Those who go to seances etc are in contact with demons.. Not good ole uncle Charlie. Here’s another thing to contemplate and research back around 33 A.D. when our Savior was crucified. He told the apostles he would be in the tomb for three days and three nights, as Jonah was in the belly of the big fish. So his does the church get seventy two hours from Friday afternoon til sun-day morning? Jesus died on a Wednesday afternoon, and the next day was a “Sabbath”..a holy day. Passiver. So no work could be done to anoint his body on thursfay. Friday, the women purchased the oils etc to anoint him with. Saturday Jesus rose from the dead ..seventy two hours later after his death as he told his apostles he would on the regular Sabbath afternoon. He was already gone when Mart got to His tomb while it was still in the darkness of morning in Sun-Day. Sunday is a pagan holiday named after the sun. Constantine was s sun worshiper and had paganism mixed with Christianity. Jesus had nothing to do with Easter Sunday. Easter = Ishtar. Do your homework. God Bless each and every one of you out there.
Hi Tony… good post. I just want to share with you… I too have studied all of what you posted. I was the “scrooge” for many, many years. Did not celebrate Christmas. I had learned through the bible; “the invisible things of Him (God/Yahweh) can be seen clearly and understood by the things that are made”. (Romans 1:19–20)
So the above is saying that we can “see” something invisible, CLEARLY and UNDERSTAND it… how? by the things that are made. For all things manifested in the physical are a “type and shadow” of things to come.
One day I was looking at a friends Christmas tree. (I was alone there). I started praying and talking to Yahshua… I started asking… “What does the Christmas Tree represent? Why is this manifested in some fashion throughout the world?” He brought unto my remembrance of how Paul… when he was blinded and Yahshua put mud on his eyes and washed them, at first he saw men walking as “trees”. Then Yahshua washed them again, and he saw men. So we are depicted as “trees”. When you cut the tree down, you basically have a “dead tree” now. We are all “dead” and have no light of our own save through Yahshua/Jesus. The lights on the tree are a type of how he “adorns us” (the dead tree) with HIS light. (“I am the light”) And notice how there is always an angel or star at top of the tree. Stars depict angels in Revelations. Angels in greek are also “message”. They interpret it as “messenger”. But when Paul says; “Don’t you know we shall judge Angels”. He is not talking about us judging other beings but “messages” that we receive… whether they be true or false. So basically… though few know it… the Christmas Tree is an actual manifestation of Yahshua adorning US with His light and we receive the message that He (at top of our head) is the authority of our lives. Now… as far as the 3 days in two… If Yahshua was crucified on Friday… keep in mind that the sun went dark and the veil in the temple separating the holy place from the most holy place torn in twain making them one. Then the sun shown again. So in reality… there was two days in one. Then Sunday would make the 3rd. day. Just thought I’d share. May Yahweh Bless you and keep you always in shalom (complete wellness)
The above was suppose to read: “The invisible things of HIM are clearly SEEN and understood by the things that are made.” (sorry) 🙂
The name is “Tony” not Tomy…and my apologies for the misspelled words and punctuation.
