Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., won an upset victory in 2019 after running as a far-Left antagonizer. A month after taking office, the self-described socialist encouraged “everyday Americans” to “organize and fight for their communities.”
Six years later, Ocasio-Cortez has become an entrenched incumbent… and now her constituents are organizing to antagonize her.
In a viral video released Monday, some hecklers confronted Ocasio-Cortez at a movie theater, and they accused her of ignoring the war in Gaza.
Ocasio-Cortez had no patience for the same behavior that she used to encourage.
“I need you to understand that this is not OK,” Ocasio-Cortez preached at the heckler. “It’s f‑‑‑ed up, man. You’re not helping your people. And you’re not helping them. You’re not helping them.”
The protestor kept pushing.
“You refuse to call it genocide,” the heckler said. “[It’s] not OK that there’s a genocide happening and you’re not actively against it.”
“I already said that it was,” Ocasio-Cortez. “And y’all are just going to pretend that it wasn’t over and over again… And you’re gonna cut this — you’re gonna clip this so that it’s completely out of context.”

In January, Ocasio-Cortez seemed open to describing the Israel-Hamas War as a genocide against Gazans, although she stopped short of using the magic word.
“They’re still determining it,” Ocasio-Cortez said in January on Meet the Press, referring to the U.N.’s judgment on whether to consider the war a genocide.
Hamas still holds over 100 Israeli captives and refuses to surrender them after launching their surprise war, with the help of Gaza civilians, in October.
