Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has become infamous for her emotional (and often fact-challenged) rants against all things American.
Her tweets this week reached a new low — and they were too much for Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas to ignore.
What he said forced Ocasio-Cortez into a corner.
And she couldn’t talk her way out.

It all started after a news report from a local ABC affiliate in Houston shared a story about how a young woman successfully defended herself against five male attackers. The young lady was armed… and it was only the attackers that were harmed.
“Situations like this story are why we protect the 2nd Amendment,” Crenshaw tweeted.
He then pointed out that Democrats proposed “universal background checks” hurt law-abiding gun owners in America. They can create an unwinnable choice between a felony offense and the right to self-defense for some citizens.
Situations like this story are why we protect the 2nd Amendment.
Side note: With universal background checks, I wouldn’t be able to let my friends borrow my handgun when they travel alone like this. We would make felons out of people just for defending themselves. https://t.co/x60mdd1WW1

Ocasio-Cortez couldn’t wrap her head around why someone might loan their friend a firearm.
She assumed Crenshaw, a decorated and disabled veteran, is friends with domestic abusers and felons.

“You are a member of Congress. Why are you ‘lending’ guns to people unsupervised who can’t pass a basic background check?” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “The people you’re giving a gun to have likely abused their spouse or have a violent criminal record, & you may not know it. Why on earth would you do that?”
Crenshaw was given no choice but to respond —
Just so I’m clear: you think my friends are domestic abusers/criminals? Seriously that’s your argument? That they can’t pass a background check?
Wrong. People lend guns to friends, esp if they don’t own a gun, for self-defense and hunting purposes.

The fact that Ocasio-Cortez can’t fathom owning a firearm — let alone “why on Earth” someone would loan their friend a hunting rifle — is further proof (as if we needed more) that New York liberals are completely out-of-touch with the rest of America.
Crenshaw clearly pointed this out.

The online feud quickly made its way into the mainstream media.
“Fox & Friends” host Brian Kilmeade called Ocasio-Cortez’ attacks on Crenshaw, “fact-challenged.”
Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt pointed out that she grew up in the South, where friends regularly let other friends borrow their hunting rifles.
“It doesn’t mean that they’re abusing their spouse at home, or are violent or have criminal records,” Earhardt said. “AOC can say that, she lives in New York City, that’s fine, she can have her opinion. But she’s not educated when it comes to what people are using their guns for in other parts of the country.”

Crenshaw himself had some fun with the whole exchange —
I’m just happy I was able to tell the far-left bubble that normal law-abiding Americans in the middle of the country sometimes lend their guns to friends.
Maybe tomorrow I’ll tell them that we also (wait for it) read the Bible.
