Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Democratic leaders were invited by Customs and Border Patrol agents to tour the facilities on the U.S.-Mexico border being used to detain illegal immigrants on Monday.
As soon as she got off the bus, witnesses say, she reportedly had a screaming fit and was accused of “threatening” agents. Witnesses said she started crying with anger.
That was just the beginning of her reported emotional meltdown. Ocasio-Cortez later made shocking allegations against border patrol agents on social media. She claimed she was sexually threatened, that detained migrants were being forced to drink toilet water, and she told CNN the law enforcement officers present were a danger to her.
“In the last facility, I was not safe from the officers,” she said to a CNN reporter while walking into a Clint, Texas facility.
“She comes out screaming at our agents, right at the beginning … Crying and screaming and yelling,” one witness told Fox News. “The agents, they wanted to respond, but they held back because she’s a congressional delegate. But when you have someone yelling at you in a threatening manner … They were like, ‘Hey, you need to kinda step back.’”
Her spokesman, Corbin Trent, said Ocasio-Cortez had screamed at Border Patrol agents because they asked to take selfies with her before she toured a facility.
US Border Patrol Chief of Operations Brian Hastings denied the explosive allegations that Ocasio-Cortez made throughout the day.
“Drinking out of the toilet is completely untrue,” said Hastings. There are “ample supplies” at the facilities, and added that “a lot of our stations look like Costco.”
Since January, President Donald Trump and the Department of Homeland Security had been warning Democrats that a humanitarian crisis was developing on the U.S.-Mexico border. They were rebuffed by Democratic leaders, who called the emergency a faked “manufactured crisis” and claimed Trump was “holding the American people hostage.”
The mainstream media echoed the claims and told viewers for months that the White House was lying.
Seven months after refusing to fund more border security, Democrats are screaming mad that the humanitarian crisis at the border that Trump warned about had gotten out of control.

According to Fox News’ Anna Giaritelli, Ocasio-Cortez was the only one of 13 House Democrats in the room that reacted this way.
“The hypocrisy from House Dems is unbelievable,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise said last week. “They like to grandstand about the humanitarian crisis at our border. Yet they’ve blocked [Trump’s] request for money to actually solve it 17 TIMES. They need to quit obstructing and work with us to get funding signed into law.”
To be clear: it was completely unnecessary for House Dems to play games with emergency funding for the border. They haven’t taken the crisis seriously from the start. Republicans fought relentlessly for aid and reform, and now a bill is finally headed to @realDonaldTrump’s desk.
