Before the Democrats officially took the majority in the House of Representatives in January, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., teach party insiders everything she knew about social media.
Maybe that explains why the Democrats have had the year from hell.
AOC just backed herself into a humiliating corner on her favorite website, Twitter — and it was a self-inflicted wound.
Ocasio-Cortez, who has never been known as a brilliant person, admitted she didn’t even know how to pick out her own health insurance plan.
The first-term congresswoman complained that “Members of Congress also have to buy their plans off the exchange” set up by Obamacare. Of course, our rulers get “Gold plans that are partially subsidized” — which is better than most people who are trapped by the 44th president’s disintegrating health overhaul.
But AOC whined that picking out her taxpayer-financed, Cadillac healthcare plan meant that she had the option of looking at “66 complex financial products.”
“This is absurd,” she complained. “No person should go without healthcare, &no one should go through this, either.”

That means I get to “choose” btwn 66 complex financial products.

The entire Twitterverse began laughing at—and not with—AOC within seconds.
“You’re actually mad that you have 66 different healthcare options that U.S taxpayers funded? I knew you were dumb, but this is a whole new level,” responded Republican consultant Caleb Hull.
“Why do I think that everything seems complicated to you?” asked John Betts.
Other users said the problem wasn’t 66 plans, it was that she has an IQ of 66.
People even laughed out loud at the way she shared a picture of her computer screen.
Lmao, you took a photo of your screen with your phone rather than a screenshot. No wonder you can't figure out how to work the online system.

Within minutes, the media darling realized she was in the middle of a social media nightmare and began feverishly churning out tweets one-after-another…but she only dug the hole deeper.
Things were so bad that she had to admit she got feedback from “many staying that those who struggle to pick the best insurance option are simply ‘too dumb’ to know better.”
She said it wasn’t her fault: “the complexity of our system is by design” to make her look stupid!
Even a whole day later, she couldn’t let it go. She said her Twitter followers were “upset that I stated 66 ‘choices’ is too many. It is!”
“Healthcare is not H&M,” she said, referring to a high-end fashion retailer. “Insurance is a complex financial product for the doctor.”
She doubled down—and tried to claim that the fact she was inconvenienced proved America is a backward country.
“The US needs to become an advanced society,” she said.
To make matters worse, she turned around and told her bewildered followers to “get insured if you can at healthcare.gov” — the same process she’d just said was so mind-blowingly complicated that she couldn’t figure it out herself.
Unlike most Americans, it pays for AOC to shop for Obamacare. All members of Congress get a salary of $174,000, perks beyond imagination, and their choice of five-and-a-half dozen of the best healthcare plans in the country.
The U.S. taxpayer picks up the tab for 72 percent of congressmen’s insurance premiums.
Members of Congress also get free healthcare from the Office of the Attending Physician and at military facilities — which is more than most veterans, stuck in the VA system, can get.
She’s gone from being a bartender to having a gold-plated benefits package anyone in the country would kill to have… but AOC doesn’t think it’s enough. She wants to destroy our current healthcare system, start a new one — and she wants to be in charge of it all.
AOC has stumped with Bernie Sanders for a Canada-style “Medicare for All” form of socialized medicine.
Conservative writers thought her tweet exposed how ridiculous her healthcare views are.
“Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to nationalize and control the healthcare of every person in the nation, yet she cannot fathom choosing her own taxpayer-subsidized insurance plan,” wrote Tiana Lowe at The Washington Examiner.
Competition helps lower prices by letting companies try to provide better services for less money. The fact that AOC doesn’t get that just shows her “economic illiteracy,” Lowe wrote.
To try to distract from the issue, AOC tweeted out a video of her discussing healthcare… and shot herself in the foot again.
The video of a congressional hearing shows making a bizarre comparison between new mothers and “how long puppies are allowed to stay with their mothers after birth.” (Does she even know what they call a female dog?)
Nancy Pelosi let AOC and her “Squad” push the Speaker into a disastrous impeachment process that has backfired every step of the way.
This might just prove Pelosi shouldn’t listen to AOC about how to get her message out on social media, either.
