America’s most famous socialist congresswoman, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., took an unnecessary slap at America’s veterans– claiming that she had a harder job as a bartender.
The insult to America’s fighting men and women came out of nowhere during a random tweet.

“The thing that these conservative Senators don’t seem to understand is that I’ve actually had a physically difficult working-class job without good healthcare most of my adult life,” tweeted AOC.
The Democratic congresswoman, who grew up in a wealthy New York suburb, bragged that unlike Republican senators, “I bring that work ethic to Congress & to my community. They sit around on leather chairs all day.”

She wasn’t done. She added, “Republicans like to make fun of the fact that I used to be a waitress, but we all know if they ever had to do a double they’d be the ones found crying in the walk-in fridge halfway through their first shift bc someone yelled at them for bringing seltzer when they wanted sparkling.”

AOC’s constant reference to a short-term job as a bartender and waitress is already wearing on a lot of people. “She was a bartender for what, a year? And she constantly acts like she did it for a lifetime” one person tweeted in response. “Her victim routine is weak.”

But her claim that conservative Republican senators never worked as hard as a Brooklyn waitress would come as news to Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., who served two combat tours in Afghanistan.
Did Sandy Cortez have a harder time warding off (or accepting) passes from drunken patrons than Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa had when she trucked goods past terrorists and delivered them to U.S. soliders in Iraq? Ernst served for a year after she became the first female combat veteran elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Was it harder pouring draft beers while listening to loud music than it was for Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, who served in the Middle East, the Horn of Africa, and Central Asia, then focused on dismantling terrorist networks in Afghanistan?
How about Sen. Todd Young, R-Ind., who fought narcotics traffickers and terrorists in military intelligence.
At least AOC could choose her career, unlike Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla, who served a draft of a totally different kind. The government forced Inhofe to serve in the Army in the middle of his college years, in 1957-1958, but he did it and held the bitters.

Even making it past basic training is an accomplishment: About 12 percent of all enlistees drop out of basic training, and another 15 percent fail out.
And if an angry customer left AOC crying in the back, imagine what a drill sergeant would do to her fragile self-esteem!s
AOC’s words are an insult to all nine Republican U.S. Senators who served in some branch of the armed forces—even to Democratic veterans like Tammy Duckworth and Bobby Scott.
Her words rubbed the very conservative Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Tex.—who lost his eye in an IED explosion—the wrong way.
“Chuck Schumer is controlled by people like AOC, who believes that the biggest hardship in life was figuring out whether it was still or sparking (water), and you don’t know hardship till you’ve cried in the back,” he said at a rally in Georgia.

“I was thinking – I was like, ‘Geez, I’m so glad I didn’t have to do that in my former career.’” He said getting an order right wasn’t “our biggest problem in the mountains of Afghanistan.”
“That’s Congress these days,” he said. “We cannot give these people control.”

You might think Ocasio-Cortez didn’t intend to cast shade on our military veterans—except that she just went on a Twitch livestream broadcast with someone who savaged Crenshaw for losing his eye.
She and fellow “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., joined Hasan Piker—a former contributor to The Young Turks TV show—to tell his supporters to “vote blue” this November.

Piker once asked of Crenshaw, “Didn’t he go to war and like literally lose his eye because some mujahideen — a brave f-cking soldier — f-cked his eye hole with their d-ck?”
“America deserved 9/11, Dude,” Piker said on another occasion.
America deserves better than AOC, who honors Piker… and attacks our veterans.
