“On the Holmes Front, with Frank Holmes”
Decisions have consequences – and electing Barack Obama president was one of the most disastrous in U.S. history. New figures show how Americans are still dying because of Obama’s policies a year after he left office.
Four months disappeared from the average American’s life during the last two years of Obama’s presidency.
The U.S. life expectancy actually fell in 2016 – for the second year in a row.
An American born in 2016 could expect to live 78.6 years, a decrease from 2015 – which was already down from 2014.
“This was the first time life expectancy in the U.S. has declined two years in a row since declines in 1962 and 1963,” because of a flu epidemic, according to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS).
But there was no flu this time. President Obama’s disconnect from struggling people living paycheck-to-paycheck brought hopelessness – and death – to middle-class Americans.
In 2015, all of Obamacare’s job-killing provisions became law – and life expectancy fell for the first time since Bill Clinton was sworn into office.

People who kept their jobs saw their wages stagnate or drop, thanks to illegal (and legal) immigrants doing the same job for peanuts.
Drug overdoses killed so many people in 2016 that “unintentional injuries” shot up to the third leading killer of Americans.
Drug-related deaths rose 21 percent that year, killing 63,600 Americans.
“Barack Obama promised us hope. He gave us despair,” wrote Daniel Flynn in The American Spectator.
Suicides rose again in 2016, hitting their highest level in 30 years. Obama was too busy obsessing over transgender bathrooms and waging his War on Coal to notice – or care.
To use one of Obama’s favorite phrases, “He drove us into a ditch!”
Obama left America in a dark, depressed place when he left office – and we shouldn’t kid ourselves that we’re out of the woods yet. Experts already expect next year’s life expectancy to fall, based on trends from Obama’s years in office.
It will take President Trump time to turn this around, but there are already some good signs that we’re moving in the right direction.
In 2016, America lost 16,000 manufacturing jobs – but in Trump’s first year in office, we added 196,000 plant jobs. There are more manufacturing jobs than any time since the beginning of Obama’s presidency.
America’s job market is so hot that even the Japanese want to Make America Great Again.
Nissan announced it’s building a new American factory, which will be completed in four or five years – too late for Trump to get the credit in the next election, but it’s still thanks to him.
In the meantime, he’s mopping up other causes of premature death.
Trump has made fighting opioid addiction his top priority.
He’s prosecuting and deporting the murderous MS-13 gangs – the “children” from Central America that Obama illegally gave amnesty.
And the number of policemen shot and killed in the line of duty fell by one-third in 2017, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
What do you know? Having a president who no longer trashes the police after every single traffic incident – and whips up Black Lives Matters fanatics – makes a difference.
Most importantly, President Trump is killing despair. Trump’s red-hot economy means that Americans who want a job can find one.
This week, the Dow Jones rose to 26,000 for the first time ever.
The unemployment rate dropped 4.1 percent – its lowest level since February 2001.
The number of Americans receiving unemployment checks hit a 44-year low.

And Americans are more comfortable about their finances than any time in the last 16 years.
Obama promised to give Americans “hope” in 2008 – and voters fell for it hook, line, and sinker in two elections. Thanks to President Trump, they may just live to regret it.
