President Barack Obama’s supporters have long accused former President George W. Bush of fabricating intelligence about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
But now it’s Obama himself who is being quickly swept up into one of the largest intelligence scandals in recent history — and some of the country’s top security analysts are blowing the whistle.
They’re warning that they’re being pressured to produce intelligence — even if it’s not true — that supports the Obama Administration’s narrative that America is winning the war against ISIS and other Islamic radicals.
And those who don’t are being disciplined — and even fired.
According to a report by the Daily Beast, two senior intelligence analysts at U.S. Central Command claim the military forced them out of their jobs because of their “skeptical reporting on U.S.-backed rebel groups in Syria” fighting against ISIS.
Unfortunately, these are just the latest accusations that the Obama Administration is involved in actively manipulating intelligence to make the fight against ISIS appear to be going better than it is.
Reports surfaced from whistle-blowers last year that the Obama Administration was pressuring the intelligence community. But these are the first reported firings of analysts who didn’t toe the party line.
“It’s the first known instance of possible reprisals against CENTCOM personnel after analysts accused their bosses of manipulating intelligence reports about the U.S.-led campaign against ISIS in order to paint a rosier picture of progress in the war,” the Daily Beast reports.
The article goes on to say, “One of the analysts alleging reprisals is the top analyst in charge of Syria issues at CENTCOM. He and a colleague doubted rebels’ capabilities and their commitment to U.S. objectives in the region. The analysts have been effectively sidelined from their positions and will no longer be working at CENTCOM, according to two individuals familiar with the dispute, and who spoke on condition of anonymity.”
Congress does little. They have the power to question and investigate.

I agree we need term limits. When they are not present for voting, their pay should be cut for the time lost just like we do at our jobs. Term limits needs to go hand in hand with the same retirement, (Social Security), and the same health insurance available to the general population. After their term ends they should go back to work in a regular job. I don’t see why former presidents need a raise either. No one in the government that created the huge deficit should get a raise. They are not doing a good job when the country cannot live within its means. Raises given in years where deficit spending was allowed should be rescinded. Most people get fired if they do not do a good job, only in our current government environment is a bad job rewarded with a raise. This is so frustrating to me.

I think organized labor can be good or bad – look what happened to the railroad and the auto industry, manufacturing in general. Some companies are greedy, and so are some unions. The path to success requires both tp work as partners on the same path and with the same goals. I’m part of a small business, and our customers (the big guys) are going to Bulgaria, Mexico, etc to save money to get their work done. Quality is poor, so we get the re-work and it is still cheaper for them. Materials are so much more expensive here too. Workers should be paid a fair wage based on skills, production, etc. Company management should be paid in the same manner! Ever wonder what their board of directors are thinking?????

Congress should immediately prevent his absence from the continental US for 1 year minimum and curtail his authority (martial law first).
Congress should immediately begin investigation of the most serious charges of any actions that have supportable evidence that his actions were harmful to the US (thereby citizens).
Trial should begin immediately as enough evidence is gathered to do so, not wasting the time that would be necessary to gather total evidence to bring charges, that could require years.

I want to state at the outset that this comment has nothing to do with this article in particular. I am interested in sharing some bipartisan thoughts about the topic, We Are The Party, and address it to both Democrats and Republicans alike.
This election cycle has focused my thinking about the process we go through in both parties to select a candidate to represent us in the November elections. During the Democratic primaries Democrats vote for their choice but the “Party” has super delegates who are not beholding to the rank and file Democratic voter. On the Republican side it is apparent that when they don’t like who the rank and file Republicans are voting for “they” the “Party” try to decide who is going to be the nominee over the choice of the majority of their members. In both cases the Democratic and Republican parties forget that in reality you and I “Are the Party” and we should be the ones that ultimately decide who represents us.
To this end I am suggesting a voter “Revolution” where people push back hard on their respective parties and remind those in charge that you and I are the party and we really don’t care for these rules that take the ultimate say away from those of us who are also registered Democrats and Republicans. I would urge those of you who agree to write and call your respective Congressional, State and Local representatives to complain about the “process” in addition to the DNC and RNC depending on your party affiliation.
I think its time that the people involved in the political process understand that they only derive their authority from the People when we give it to them and WE need to recognize that when we acquiesce and let them do as they wish we are abrogating our individual prerogatives to have them represent us as we would like to be represented.
Those of you who feel you agree with my sentiments are free to use this statement in any comments or letters or conversations you have. It is my intention to insert this statement in the comments of every article I read online and to hopefully start a movement that will hold both political parties accountable to their members.

I have another revelation for you all to ponder! If Hillary becomes president she will most likely appoint the present president as one of the Supreme Court Justice of this once great country. I am a Veteran-but not a combat veteran. And I do talk to Iraq War Veterans at the nearby American Legion occasionally. One little known fact is that US Army and Marines did discover large stockpiles of chemical weapons as they invaded Iraq. But this information wasn’t advertised very strongly. They didn’t want the insurgent fighters to know. So Mr. Bush, Powell, and Rumsfeld may have exaggerated the ‘weapons of mass destruction’ bit, but they weren’t lying completely. Many of these canisters and artillery shells were transported to Utah for destruction.
