The left-leaning New York Times on Thursday rejected Donald Trump’s claim the newspaper had libeled the Republican presidential nominee, saying its story about two women who said he sexually assaulted them was “newsworthy information about a subject of deep public concern.”
In a letter, Times attorney David McCraw said Trump “has bragged about his non-consensual sexual touching of women” and that multiple women had already come forward. “Nothing in our article has had the slightest effect on the reputation that Mr. Trump, through his own words and actions, has already created for himself,” he wrote.
The Times reported Wednesday that two women told the paper of his unwanted sexual advances. One, Jessica Leeds, said Trump groped her on an airplane more than three decades ago. The other, Rachel Crooks, said Trump kissed her without invitation in 2006 when she was a 22-year-old receptionist for a real estate firm located at Trump Tower.
Trump vehemently denied the allegations, and demanded through his attorney that the story be retracted. At a rally in Ohio, Trump said the media had “slandered and lied about me with false accusations.”
The Times refused to retract the story, saying its reporters worked diligently to confirm the women’s accounts. “It would have been a disservice not just to our readers but to democracy itself to silence their voices,” McCraw’s letter said.
McCraw said that if Trump decides to go ahead with a lawsuit, then “we welcome the opportunity to have a court set him straight.”

This may or may not be true but the issue I have with it is these women waited 10 to 30 years and never was brought up until now. I do believe the Clinton campaign is behind it and not only that but the Times reports it have been a disservice to their readers and democracy.
That statement is a joke because it has been proven they are not writing about all the Clinton scandals and even down play their articles when they do write something concerning Clinton, where if they were service about service and democracy they along with all the mainstream media would be writing nothing but articles on Hillary and demanding she not be able to run for office and should be charged with numerous crimes.

Thanks for all this information. Regular people don’t know all these connections because the women use their maiden names so average person can’t make the connections. We are living out 1984 book only many years later.
When they take control of the media,then they control the news they want people to see or hear. TV news have spent 5-9 minutes on Donald Trump’s negatives and only 23-26 SECONDS on Hillary and the Democratic e-mails being released by Wiki Leaks.

The Democratic Party has a history of asking donors to start lawsuits to discredit any serious contenders. That is what, I believe, is happening with WIkileaks founder, Julian Assange. They have someone make a claim of sexual misconduct — the woman in Sweden who initially said that happened has now said that the police intimidated her into make the claim. It follows a pattern of the DNC. Remember how they got a couple of major Democrat donors to file numerous frivolous lawsuits against Sarah Palin? It takes the person’s focus and costs buckets of money. Sarah Palin won all the lawsuits, but ultimately resigned as Governor because she could not, in good conscience, keep on as Governor when so much time was being consumed fighting these silly lawsuits. Democrats are without consciences.

I posted this in an earlier comment on another topic. But I have travelled first class on US airlines planes since 1973, either thru points or work-related. In the 1980’s, the armrest separating the two seats was large enough to accommodate both passengers, and it was bolted to the floor. How it could disappear is beyond me. Trump would have to undo the bolts that held it down. She is a liar. I wonder how much she was paid to concoct this story, I’m sure the other allegations will also be proven to be untrue. Trump should pursue the lawsuit after this hullaballoo is over, win or not. NYT needs to have its legs cut off. CNN also since they admit to have given Clinton the questions prior to a debate with Bernie Sanders in the primaries.
