An NFL star chose to honor America in a beautiful way before hitting the field instead of joining Colin Kaepernick and the other players who sit and disrespect the National Anthem.
Green Bay Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, a native of Orlando, wrote the names of four Florida police officers who died in the line of duty on his cleats to show respect for the families and the community.
This sign of respect comes in sharp contrast to the protests by Kaepernick and others, who claim to be protesting against police shootings of citizens.
He tweeted a photo of the cleats before his preseason game between the Packers and the Washington Redskins.
Added 2 more angels to my cleats in respect to families who loss Two HEROS in the community. #SAMHOWARD #MATTHEWBAXTER #RIP 👮🏾♀️👮🏾👮🏿👮🏻 pic.twitter.com/JLT0ZxETWu

The officers he honored came from several departments, but were all from the part of Florida where Clinton-Dix grew up.
Officer Matt Baxter and Sgt. Sam Howard of the Kissimmee Police Department, Deputy Sheriff Norman Lewis of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and Orlando Police Sgt. Debra Clayton were commemorated.
Clinton-Dix has been vocal on twitter since Baxter and Howard were killed on the job in Kissimmee. He has shared several photos and prayers honoring the men.
But when two police officers are killed by gunfire, the players who sit are silent…
Clinton-Dix studied criminal justice while he attended the University of Alabama.
The Packers went on to defeat the Redskins 21-17.
