Nancy Pelosi’s official replacement just pocketed $8 million…

Outgoing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who announced she will not run for re-election to Congress in 2026 thus ending her long tenure in the House of Representatives, may be best known for her lucrative financial accounts and well-timed investment trades.

One of the worst kept secrets on Capitol Hill is that Pelosi’s net worth skyrocketed to an estimated $280 million since she first took office four decades ago despite her relatively modest congressional salary of $174,000.

However, with Pelosi’s pending departure, there may be a new official queen of eye-catching wealth ready to take her place.

Democratic Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley, who is a member of the “Squad”, brushed off a question from a reporter last week about how her wealth jumped to as much as $8 million after initially entering Congress with a negative net worth.

Fox Business reporter Chad Pergram questioned Pressley after her financial disclosure for 2024 indicated a net worth of as much as $8 million, due to multiple rental properties in Massachusetts and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

However, according to Ballotpedia, Pressley entered Congress after upsetting incumbent Democrat Rep. Michael Capuano of Massachusetts in a 2018 primary election, and her initial financial disclosure appeared to put her net worth in the negative.

“How did you make all this income from the rental property?” Pergram asked Pressley, who responded, “Sir, I submit my financial disclosure, just like everybody else. There’s nothing to see here. Thank you.”

“Is it appropriate for members to make so much money when they’re in office? Should there be rules there?” Pergram asked.

Take a look —

Pressley’s husband, who served a prison term for drug trafficking, has reportedly brought in as much as $1,000,000 in 2024, according to the latest financial disclosure.

Pressley also raked in between $250,000 and $500,000 when she sold the Fort Lauderdale rental property in 2024. The property was not listed in her 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, and 2019 financial disclosures, and its purchase apparently was not reported in any of those forms.

Pressley’s real estate fortune comes despite her long history of attacking landlords, demanding rent cancellation, and claims that all Americans live on “stolen land.”

In 2020, Pressley joined fellow Squad members Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib in reintroducing the “Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act,” which would have instituted a nationwide cancellation of rents and primary home mortgage payments during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Keeping families housed is a matter of public health. We must cancel rent, extend eviction and foreclosure moratoriums, provide rental assistance, and offer legal representation for those at risk of eviction,” Pressley wrote on social media in August 2020.

Pressley represents Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District, which includes the northern three-quarters of Boston, most of Cambridge, and several surrounding communities. She was first elected to Congress in 2018 and is a member of the progressive “Squad.”
