Did the child of one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington get caught red-handed committing a felony that could land her in prison for years?
That depends on who you believe.
If you believe Democratic prosecutors nationwide, the answer could be yes — and it could catch Nancy Pelosi’s daughter in a felony case.
As part of the unprecedented “lawfare” against former President Donald Trump and anyone associated with him, Left-leaning courts in deep-blue states are criminalizing politics…and dozens of everyday citizens are caught in the cross hairs…but the Democrats’ case may just come back to bite them.
Democrats have targeted slates of alternative electors who said they would vote for Trump to be reelected at the Electoral College if given the chance.
Prosecutors across seven states have hauled 84 Republicans before court, threatening to jail them for years.
Their crime?
They lived in contested states that they sincerely believed Trump won in the controversial 2020 presidential election — and acted on it.
After the American people vote in November, states tally up on the ballots and then choose the people who will vote in the real election in December—the one at the Electoral College.
Electors pledged to the GOP looked at Biden’s margins of “victory” in states like Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Georgia — and lobbied to have their votes counted instead of those of Democratic electors.
Many cast ballots and submitted them in the belief that their state would investigate election fraud allegations, prove that Trump won the state, and be recognized as the legitimate electors in their state.
Left-wing prosecutors, who often let felons slip through the cracks and release criminal aliens instead of deporting them, have since put the screws to the Trump electors.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, a far-Left Democrat, targeted all 16 Republican electors in her state.
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, a left-wing Democrat, pressed charges against all 11 Trump electors in that state.
Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, a liberal Democrat, slapped six of his state electors with charges.
Of course, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis charged three state electors, offering immunity to those who would roll over against other Republicans.
And Willis’ politics, and lack of integrity, are no secret.
The 10 Trump electors in Wisconsin have not yet faced criminal charges, but last December they were forced to settle a civil lawsuit by signing a humiliating statement proclaiming they acted as “part of an attempt to improperly overturn the 2020 presidential election results.”
Some face RICO charges of conspiracy that could earn them a felony conviction and years behind bars.
But if their actions are illegal, what about when Democrats do the same thing?
Flashback to 2016, when outraged left-wingers pulled out all the stops to keep Donald Trump from taking office—including trying to tamper with the Electoral College.
There were groups like the Hamilton Electors, which tried to convince electors to vote for someone other than Trump, and Hollywood celebrities like Martin Sheen who aided in the effort.
But there were also efforts from the electors themselves — including Christine Pelosi, the daughter of the then-Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.
They weaponized tales of “Russian collusion” to try to overturn the election.
Pelosi led a team of electors in writing a letter to the Obama-Biden administration’s director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, demanding he give them an intelligence briefing about supposed Russian “interference” in the 2016 election before they voted in the Electoral College.
“We do not understand our sole function (to be) to convene in mid-December, several weeks after Election Day, and summarily cast our votes,” the letter said.
They wanted to change the outcome—and they wanted their friends in the Deep State to help them.
“The list of electors — all but one of them Democrats — is dominated by California, where Christine Pelosi, the daughter of the House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, spearheaded the effort,” reported Politico at the time. “So far, 11 of the state’s 55-member Electoral College delegation have signed on.”
There were some differences between Hillary’s electors in 2016 and the Trump teams of 2020, Fred Lucas points out in a column at Townhall.com.
“The anti-Trumpers tried to flip existing electors in 2016. Four years later, Trump’s team sought a new slate of electors, similar to the 1876 election dispute, who are now charged in three states,” explains Lucas, a top-rated conservative reporter.
“But most of these defendants argued they were only in place as alternatives if Trump managed to win his lawsuits, which didn’t happen. The aim in both instances was to stand athwart the anticipated Electoral College outcome shouting stop.”
Whatever you think of Trump’s actions, they’re “hardly unprecedented,” says Lucas.
Just ask Christine Pelosi — under oath, if necessary.
