House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a press conference early Friday — and it didn’t go well.
Pelosi was described as “unhinged” by critics after she claimed, falsely, that the Democrats had won big in the 2020 election and had a “mandate” from the voters.

Democrats lost the 2020 election almost everywhere. The presidential race has not yet been called.
She called Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden the “president-elect” even though he’s not yet claimed victory. President Donald Trump conceded defeat. And the mainstream media hasn’t called the presidential race over yet.
After losing five seats in the House to Republicans and failing to win the Senate majority, Pelosi said she was “officially pleased” with the outcome.
“This morning, it is clear that the Biden-Harris ticket will win the White House,” Pelosi claimed.
While Biden has an inside track to win, not all the legal votes have been counted.
“This has been a life and death fight for our democracy — as he says, ‘the soul of our nation’,” she said. “We did not win every battle in the House, but we did win the war.”

“In the 2018 election, we won 40 seats… 30 or 31 of them in districts that Trump had won before,” Pelosi said. “They were Trump districts.”
“In preparation for 2020, I said to people, ‘You have to help us’ and they said, ‘Oh but you won. Let’s just do the Senate and the White House.’ No, we won Trump districts with him not on the ballot,” she said. “In the next election, he will be on the ballot. Which will make winning those districts a steeper climb.”
“I’m pleased that we overwhelmingly won those districts,” she said, falsely, before correcting herself. “Well, not all of them. Not all of them.”
“But, next time he won’t be on the ballot,” Pelosi said.
And it only got stranger from there.
