Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic Party has moved so far Left that they’re rapidly losing voters with any common sense — causing its top donors to withhold hundreds of thousands of dollars, and leading inside strategists to say the entire Democratic National Committee is “a joke” and “just embarrassing.”
Suddenly, Pelosi and her socialist pals are bleeding cash thanks to President Donald Trump’s influence on politics.
The Democrats’ embrace of extremism became undeniable outside Pelosi thanks to the success of democratic socialists such as New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, who won the city’s Democratic Party primary this week.
Every major Democratic leader lined up to congratulate Mamdani, who has threatened to arrest Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu if he sets foot in the Big Apple and to replace bodegas with government-run grocery stores in the five boroughs.
The problem isn’t one canddiate; it’s the entire party, an insider has revealed.
“There is just a broad consensus that the DNC is ineffectual and not where we should be giving money,” a longtime former donor, who wanted to remain anonymous, told New York media.“The DNC has always been a joke…the shape of the DNC is just embarrassing.”
“If you are a megadonor looking to shape the direction of the party, don’t give to the DNC,” the source concluded.
One anonymous comment isn’t enough for a news story—unless you’re complaining about Trump’s strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. But that unnamed individual is far from alone—and many are willing to go on record.
At least five elected state officials or donors have publicly left the Democratic Party since the 2024 election, according to an accounting from Newsweek—and the trail of former Democrats seems to have added another name this week, as a lifelong Democratic activist announced she could no longer recognize what her party had become in the era of Trump Resistance.
“I am a lifelong Democrat. I have been super active in campaigns — I’ve worked on them, I’ve volunteered for them, I’ve contributed to them. I’m so appalled by the Democratic Party,” a Democratic activist named Sharon told The Morning Meeting, hosted by Mark Halperin.
“I have no idea what they stand for. I have no idea what their policies are,” said the Democrat during an audience participation part of the show. “The things that I see that they most talk about feel very, like, bad for the country, bad for the people, super fringy. So why would — how would you convince me to stay in that party and support it, given what is happening today?” she asked Democratic startegist Dan Turrentine.
Turrentine told her his party has become “rudderless and leaderless”—and it all comes down to one reason: Trump broke the Democratic Party.
“Often what we talk about is just our dislike of (President) Trump, right? It’s just — we scream and pull our hair out and say he’s a king, etc.”
‘I’m so appalled’: ‘lifelong Democrat’ asks former Dem strategist to ‘convince’ her to ‘stay’ in party

Turrentine also wondered out loud why almost not a single Democrat could bring himself to say “God bless” the U.S. soldiers who flew the B-2 bombers that led Operation Midnight Hammer.
The one exception came from Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman, a lonely modern Democrat who supports Israel.

Fetterman stepped up his support on Thursday morning, slapping back at Democratic claims that the Trump-led strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities accomplished little and left the Islamic terrorist nation with a significantly operational nuclear program.
“To those who were ‘unimpressed’ or borderline gloating on a leak: Operation Midnight Hammer worked. I’ve been calling for and fully supported those strikes, and it made the world safer,” said Fetterman on social media. “It should transcend partisan politics.”
Ironically, Fetterman’s moderate support for Israel—which used to be more characteristic of Democrats than Republicans—may help further divide the remaining party supporters.
Former MSNBC host Joy Reid says she’s “barely holding on” as a member of the Democratic Party… because she thinks it has gone too far to the center and is “willing to cede the country to Trumpism and MAGA.”
She wants party brass to “move around” and even “disappoint” its current leadership in favor of fire-breathing radicals.
“If Jasmine Crockett is the most effective fighter, give me Jasmine Crockett,” Reid told iHeart Radio’s The Breakfast Club radio show. “Just give me her, because we need a leader.”
Reid also praised former Biden-Harris administration White House spokesperson Karen Jean-Pierre for saying she had exited the party, where she served up party flacks’ official daily PR spin, and declared herself “independent.”

Opposition from Reid obscures the fact that the party has driven off minority voters – especially working-class voters and men — in favor of “woke” college-educated white women.
Highlighting the pale countenance of those celebrating at Mamdani’s victory party, talk show host Clay Travis said, “Democrats are largely the party of left-wing white women without kids now. They drive everything in the party.”
The Democratic Party’s turn to the radical Left, especially on Middle Eastern affairs, has not just cost them votes; it is costing Pelosi and her allies money. The exodus from the Democratic Party’s campaigns has taken place from middle-class Americans at the bottom of the party structure and billionaire megadonors at the very top.
“For a variety of reasons, I have no intention of donating to the DNC,” major donor Barry Diller told the New York Post.
He gave the party $330,400 last year alone. This year? Zilch—and he didn’t hold off about saying why.
Diller shredded former President Joe Biden (or whomever ran his administration), saying Biden promised to govern America for everyone, to “work as hard for you if you didn’t vote for me as if you did.”
Diller didn’t dither in destroying the Democratic leadership like Pelosi, too.
“I think the biggest crime of the Biden administration is that it came in with a pledge to restore a more civilized, selfless, and uplifting manner of governance and instead let us all down with its progressive elitism, personal ego, and cynical behavior,” wrote Diller in his memoir, Who Knew.
The way Biden ran the country for the last four years was “such a shame.”
In addition to Diller, the party seems to have lost another big dollar donor: Michael Bloomberg.
Bloomberg, the former three-term mayor of New York City and 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful who gave the Democrats $413,000 in the last election cycle, has said he will not donate to the DNC… at least, not for now.
The DNC has taken positions so far to the fringe that donors and voters have left it behind.
Will that be enough for Pelosi and the Democrats to learn their lesson?
