Anyone who has even tried to understand and use Common Core, and that includes teachers, know that it is not real math as math is static, they also know they are preaching against America in Common Core’s version of our history, faith beliefs, etc. End result: children who are angry, sick, frustrated, etc. Common Core has long been known to be a brain washing approach via the public school system funded by the feds and teacher unions to further take control of America. Another reason why I stopped teaching. The real teachers are leaving because of it as well because they know it is based on communism as set forth by the Democrat National Party when they published in the Congressional Record in 1963 their Communist Manifesto of 44 steps and this is one of the steps – take over and communize education and pushing to not allow home schooling or even religious-based education to take place. Worked for a long while for Stalin but we must stop it here and now and get back to basics where 9 and 6 are really 15 and not some drummed up Common Core long paragraph to tell us that maybe it is not! Wake up, parents, and get this system eliminated. The woman in the video is deranged which is obvious in her face and hands and that type we do not need in our education system at all. She is from Pearson. Wow! I just lost a whole lot of respect for Pearson and their past and current employees and anything they may be pushing for Common Core and the complete ruination of OUR nation! In other words, wake up, people, and take back our government and our educational system without the feds and only by the states as originally set up.
I totally agree with you! I retired early partly because I needed to stay home and care for my dying husband, but also because I couldn’t take the garbage that we were being forced to teach to kindergarten children. It was totally inappropriate and definitely not developmentally acceptable. Forcing 5 year olds to read before the brain was mature enough to understand and comprehend was insane. These babies needed time to learn how to be part of a formal educational environment and develop better language skills before insisting they be reading chapter books! The math that we were forced to teach really had no direction. We were not allowed to use it in practical settings such as cooking or measuring items. It was all about letting the students come up with their own way of solving problems without any foundation. If a student doesn’t know the value of a number, then how can he/she express the solution? This is why we have kids who work at fast food places can’t give out change unless a computer tells them how. We are truly dumbing down our students. Grant it, a few will go beyond the norm and will self educate, but it will be too few to be able to carry on in the future.
