It’s the biggest story to come out of Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election — and the mainstream media is completely ignoring the reveal.
Mueller told President Donald Trump’s lawyers that he’s not under any criminal investigation at all, according to CNBC.
Zero. Zilch. None.
It gets bigger. The fact that Trump is not connected to any of Mueller’s criminal investigations is well known among Washington, D.C. insiders. It was announced last month — and then quietly swept under the rug by the mainstream media.
So what replaced it on the cable news? Critics point out that the revelation from Mueller’s office came around the same time that adult film star Stormy Daniels’ inconsistent story of sex and lies started dominating headlines.
How convenient.
Though the president has expressed relief that the Mueller investigation isn’t currently targeting him, legal experts warn that Trump isn’t exonerated yet.
The so-called “witch hunt” is still in full swing, and the announcement could be a tactic by Mueller and his team.
“The president and some of his allies seized on the special counsel’s words as an assurance that Trump’s risk of criminal jeopardy is low,” The Washington Post reported. “Other advisers, however, noted that subjects of investigations can easily become indicted targets — and expressed concern that the special prosecutor was baiting Trump into an interview that could put the president in legal peril.”
We want to hear what YOU think.
Should Trump talk to Mueller if he has nothing to hide? Or does talking to the special counsel open him up to too much legal risk?
