Political rumors have swirled that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden would recruit a number of Republicans in his White House cabinet in a show of unity.

Perhaps the biggest name attached to the rumors was none other than Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah.
But this week, Romney — a frequent critic of President Donald Trump — dashed those dreams indefinitely.
He’s not working for Biden, he told reporters.
He was reportedly emphatic during a call with reporters Tuesday, striking down the idea of ever working for a Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., would-be administration.
“The answer is no,” Romney said flatly. “I’m not going to be part of the Biden administration.”
In his own words, he’s happy right where he is: Representing Utah.
“I’ll be serving this term and, who knows, maybe even another one representing our great state.”
But to be fair, Romney’s behavior leading up to the election fueled speculation that he might cozy up to a Biden presidency. Earlier this year he revealed that he voted for someone, wouldn’t say who, and assured the political world that it wasn’t President Donald Trump.

Let’s not forget he eagerly jumped to the front of the line to prematurely congratulate Biden on a victory without all of the ballots being counted and processed.
“Ann and I extend our congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris,” he wrote on Twitter Saturday afternoon when many mainstream media outlets declared a Biden victory.
Ann and I extend our congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris. We know both of them as people of good will and admirable character. We pray that God may bless them in the days and years ahead.

The Never Trumper has of course gotten a second political wind in the headlines for bashing the president.
But just because he hates Trump’s guts doesn’t mean he likes Biden, either.
