Microsoft workers say graphic content causes PTSD

Two former Microsoft workers are claiming their work reviewing abuse, child pornography and other graphic material flagged for removal caused them post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Seattle Times says Henry Soto and Greg Blauert have sued Microsoft Corp. claiming the technology company was negligent and violated prohibitions of discrimination based on disabilities.

Soto and Blauert worked to review and remove disturbing images, videos and accounts that depicted graphic violence and abuse.

They say they were not given proper mental-health support to cope with the impact of reviewing material they called traumatic.

Microsoft disagreed with the plaintiffs’ claims. In a statement Thursday the company said the health and safety of employees who handle such material is a priority and that it works to ensure such workers have the resources and support they need.

The Associated Press contributed to this article.

PTSD? So they want to commit suicide from viewing the content they were hired to view Or are they just having mental problems be cause of what they viewed? In any case, PTSD is getting to be a overused acronym for everything, from snowflakes viewing Trump on their tvs to getting a hangnail. Utterly ridiculous!

This should be an interesting case if it goes to court.

The claim of PTSD is cheapening the very real conditions of PTSD. I served as a combat infantryman in Viet Nam. It has, become, for some, a thing to add to their whine when having to simply deal with the realities of life. I , and the men I served with can attest to what PTSD really is.

OOOOH my heart pumps purple peanut butter for them try fighting a WAR seeing your friends shot and dying in your arms getting shot yourself then come back to the USA and get spit on and degraded in a church you grew up in or wake up in the middle of the night screeming your lungs out then you can say you have PTSD
