Michelle Obama reveals spicy marriage secret (divorce rumors over?)

Despite ongoing rumors of a fractured marriage, including divorce, former first lady Michelle Obama took to the airwaves this week to share how she kept things “spicy” with former President Barack Obama.

And how she continues to use the same move to keep the spark alive.

During a recent interview with People, Michelle Obama revealed details about her so-called date night with husband Barack during her time in the White House, and why they were difficult to navigate as a couple.

The former first lady detailed that it took work to have quiet moments she and Barack Obama shared before the chaos of state dinners hosted at the White House.

“For those black tie events, that was like our wedding every time. You felt like the belle of the ball,” Obama disclosed to People.

“With each year I got a little riskier, my team and I tried different things. And you’re getting all dolled up for your man.”

“There was an unspoken ritual, he never knew, until I walked out, ready, what I was wearing. That’s the romance, those little moments in this crazy world, where we could look at each other and go, ‘You’re cute.’ Then we walk downstairs to a barrage of press, lights and cameras, and it’s like, ‘Just stay in this moment. It’s really just us. This is nice,'” she said.

She continued by saying that now that they are out of the White House, she and Barack’s date night are much different.

shared what their current date nights look like, as she apologized for forgetting how many years they’ve been married.

“We’ve been married 32, 33 [years]…I always forget. Sorry, honey,” she said.

“When we’re both happy about date night, we’re at home. We are not getting dressed. We just have a nice dinner, candles lit, music, we talk. We don’t talk for the whole day, because we’re in the house together all day, right? We work from home. So when we are going to have a really special night, it’s like, ‘Don’t talk to me. Save it for dinner.’ He’ll be like, ‘Did you talk to the girls?’ ‘I did, but we’re not going to talk about it until date night.'”

Michelle Obama’s personal comments come nearly a year of shutting down divorce rumors.

Speculation over the couple’s split first began in January when Michelle Obama was the only living spouse of a former president not to attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

She also didn’t didn’t go to former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral.

Then, Meghan McCain, the daughter of late Republican Senator John McCain, said she heard the couple was heading for a breakup by “reputable people.”

Both Barack and Michelle have both denied the rumors.

On their anniversary this year, both Obamas took to social media to express their admiration for one another.

Barack Obama wrote that marrying his wife was “the best decision” he ever made, Michelle Obama wrote that they have “been on quite the journey over the last 33 years—and yet, I love you even more today than the day we said ‘I do.’”
