Michael Cohen comes clean, is fired immediately

Michael Cohen, the disbarred lawyer who became an anti-Trump media celebrity for his testimony against President Donald Trump, lost his left-wing media platform Saturday after admitting his damaging testimony under oath against the president was politically motivated.

MeidasTouch Network, a progressive media company with 5.84 million YouTube subscribers, announced it was cutting ties with Cohen and canceling his two shows just hours after he admitted that New York prosecutors coerced him into testifying against Trump.

“Programming note: MeidasTouch Network will no longer be producing or carrying the shows Political Beatdown or Mea Culpa with Michael Cohen,” the left-leaning outlet posted on X Saturday afternoon.

Cohen’s admission came in a Friday Substack post where he accused both Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James of targeting Trump with predetermined narratives and pressuring him to provide testimony that fit their political agenda.

“From the time I first began meeting with lawyers from the Manhattan DA’s Office and the New York Attorney General’s Office in connection with their investigations of President Trump, and through the trials themselves, I felt pressured and coerced to only provide information and testimony that would satisfy the government’s desire to build the cases against and secure a judgment and convictions against President Trump,” Cohen wrote.

Cohen served as Trump’s personal attorney and fixer for over a decade before turning against him in 2018.

He pleaded guilty to eight federal crimes including campaign finance violations, tax evasion, bank fraud, and lying to Congress. After serving 13 months in federal prison, Cohen was moved to home confinement until the end of his sentence in November 2021.

The former Trump lawyer then became a star witness for Democratic prosecutors in two high-profile New York cases against the president, and a voice of the anti-Trump “resistance.”

In 2023, he testified in Attorney General James’ civil case alleging Trump fraudulently inflated his business assets to obtain favorable loan terms. Trump was found liable and ordered to pay a $454 million fine, though the civil case was later overturned on appeal over the excessive penalty.

In 2024, Cohen took the stand in DA Bragg’s criminal case involving alleged hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records. That verdict is currently being reconsidered by a lower court.

Cohen’s admitted that the cases were all built on coerced testimony from him, and he was seeking leniency from prosecutors.

“During my time with prosecutors, both in preparation for and during the trials, it was clear they were interested only in testimony from me that would enable them to convict President Trump. When my testimony was insufficient for a point the prosecution sought to make, prosecutors frequently asked inappropriate leading questions to elicit answers that supported their narrative,” Cohen wrote.

“You may reasonably ask why I am speaking out now. The answer is simple,” Cohen wrote. “I have witnessed firsthand the damage done when prosecutors pick their target first and then seek evidence to fit a predetermined narrative.”

Trump responded to Cohen’s admission on Truth Social Saturday, calling the investigations a setup from the beginning.

“These horrible Radical Left people, doing everything possible to destroy our Country, should pay a big price for this! It was a SET UP from the beginning. New York Courts, with many fair and wonderful Judges, are embarrassed by what has happened! We cannot let this pass,” Trump wrote.
