The differences between First Lady Melania Trump and former First Lady Michelle Obama are evident–and Melania’s must recent trip paints a bigger picture.
Melania and Second Lady Karen Pence headed back to Texas on Wednesday to visit victims of the recent hurricanes, and to offer their assistance in recovery efforts.
Ironically, Michelle did not accompany her husband, Barack Obama, at all during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

Instead, she stayed home to fundraise while awaiting another vacation trip to Hawaii.
The White House made an announcement on Tuesday that Melania and Karen would be visiting Texas to observe first-hand the efforts that have been put in to rebuild since Hurricane Harvey–and to thank the courage men and women who are doing it.
In a statement, the White House outlined the plans for the women to embark on during their visit.
“Upon arrival to Corpus Christi, the two will participate in a meet-and-greet with first responders who are part of the Hurricane Harvey recovery effort,” a statement from the White House read.

And next the women will meet with the victims who are still suffering from Hurricane Harvey.
“Mrs. Trump and Mrs. Pence will then travel to Rockport, Texas, to meet with a family whose home was destroyed in the hurricane, and tour the home’s remains. They will also see the family’s new Manufactured Housing Unit, provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which will serve as the family’s temporary residence until they can move into a new, rebuilt home.
“Mrs. Trump and Mrs. Pence will also visit a local elementary school, touring classrooms and speaking with faculty and students about the hurricane.
And to round-out their trip, the women will also visit a local food bank.

“The two women will conclude their day in Texas with a stop at a local food bank to meet with volunteers and help sort boxes of donations.”
Melania shared photos of their trip on Twitter, thanking the brave responders and food bank for their dedication to serving the victims of Texas.

Karen also gave commented on how well the people of Texas have come together to help each other in this tough time, “Our hearts are encouraged by the people of Texas and their continued enthusiasm to help each other pick up the pieces and rebuild after Hurricane Harvey.”
The priorities of these two women is clear–to support and aid the people of America as much as they possibly can.
And unfortunately, Michelle’s priorities are to worry about picking out a cute bathing suit.
