Conservative activist Megyn Kelly made headlines after dropping a brutal bombshell on former CNN legal pundit Jeffrey Toobin following Toobin’s criticism of the Supreme Court.
Specifically, Toobin took a shot at Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on Wednesday for Thomas’ skepticism during a hearing on the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Toobin called Thomas a “disgrace” and said he should be removed from the case because of the political views of his wife, Virginia Thomas. Virginia is an outspoken supporter of former President Donald Trump who backed the 45th president’s efforts to challenge the results of the 2020 election.
“In oral argument today, Justice Thomas is minimizing the severity of the 1/6 insurrection at the Capitol,” Toobin wrote Tuesday on the social platform X. “Perhaps that’s because his wife was part of the conspiracy. What a disgrace that he’s sitting on this case.”
During the hearing, most of the Supreme Court’s conservative-leaning justices – including Thomas – expressed skepticism towards the Justice Department’s prosecution of certain individuals involved in the Capitol riots.
During Tuesday’s arguments, Thomas implied that a criminal charge the government levied against a former police officer who is accused of storming the Capitol hasn’t been used by the DOJ on other violent protesters.
Toobin went after Thomas, and was then humiliated by Kelly on social media after his statement.
He was blasted for his use of the term “disgraced” after he was fired from The New Yorker in 2020 for masturbating in front of colleagues during a Zoom call.
“Hi Toobin – fyi you waived your right to use the term “disgraced” about other lawyers when you took your dick out of your pants and jerked off in front of your [colleagues],” Kelly posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Before he was fired, Toobin was suspended for a few weeks after the incident, which he claimed was an “embarrassing mistake.” He said at the time that he didn’t realize he could be seen during the time he exposed himself and began masturbating.
Despite the scandal, Toobin continued to work as CNN’s chief legal analyst for two years. He continues to be a regular contributor to the cable news network.
Witnesses on the Zoom call at the time said the meeting was part of a 2020 presidential election simulation and that many of the outlet’s biggest talents watched in shock as Toobin could be seen touching himself.
