A Siamese cat born during President Ronald Reagan’s administration has been named by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest living cat.
Guinness says Scooter celebrated his 30th birthday on March 26. He lives in Mansfield, Texas.
Owner Gail Floyd attributes Scooter’s longevity to staying active. She tells Guinness he keeps busy by traveling and has visited 45 of the 50 states. Some of his favorite activities include getting blow-dried after baths and snacking on chicken every other day.
Scooter isn’t Guinness’ oldest cat of all time, though. That mark belongs to a fellow Texas cat, which lived to be 38.

This cat is very beautiful.
She is a cute cat.
I am Happy for the Cat to be alive and well. Yes, that Cat have a beautiful Life. My cat died two month ago cause by cancer.
I’m sorry for your cat.
We had a cat that died when she was 13 Years old, We would do anything to have her back again, BUT when your
dead your dead. She waited till my wife got home before she died, in her arms. I just had knee operation, she let outa scream I tryed to get up and run to her, but my leg said move, but my mine said no, and over I went. The next day I was back in the hosp. having knee operation the second time.
I guess it’s true cats do have nine lives.
I had a Lilac Point Siamese that looked very much like this cat. She passed away last month after 22 years with us. She developed cancer. I thought SHE had a long life. I am sorry for all of the people who lost their companions. There are plenty more out there who need love. I am currently sponsoring two cats at a shelter because the owner went to hospice. I can’t adopt right now so this is the only way I can help out. I hope others consider this if they are in a similar situation. I miss having a kitty. I will be moving soon and will get one then. I am thinking of adopting the older cats I am sponsoring as they never get adopted out due to their age. Lovely story.
Do it. They need you and you need them. Perfect situation.
I thought that the cat my parents had when I went to Viet Nam, was old. I went back to Detroit years later and it was still alive although it did everything in slow-motion. It lived to be 27 years old. The irony was though is my mom hated the cat.
I had a seal point Siamese that lived for 21 years and 3 months. He died from kidney failure. I loved him a lot. He liked to ride in the car . His favorite place was in the back window where he could look out. Ive always had cats and love all of them. I love all animals and believe they have souls.
