Monday was an eventful day in the world of American media and politics. Stars from Fox News and CNN were both unceremoniously fired without warning. NBC News’ top boss was fired. And inside the White House, a key policy maker was ousted.
All within a just few hours.

Fox News star Tucker Carlson was the highest rated show in cable news until Monday. Carlson was reportedly preparing to make his show about the recent lawsuit between Dominion Voting Systems and Fox News, the settlement, and his involvement.
Fox executives pulled the plug on the show, and so the two sides suddenly agreed to part ways.
It’s the latest shakeup at Fox News, who recently released stars Dan Bongino and Lara Trump. The network is reportedly eyeing Lou Dobbs, Jeanie Pirro, and Maria Bartiromo for the chopping block next.
CNN also suddenly parted with a top star on Monday, firing controversial host Don Lemon without warning after 17 years at the network.
According to Lemon, CNN bosses didn’t even fire him face-to-face. The network let Lemon’s agent know, who informed the former CNN star.

At NBC News, NBCUniversial CEO Jeff Shell left the company on Sunday after “a complaint of inappropriate conduct,” Comcast, the parent company, announced.

“Today is my last day as CEO of NBCUniversal. I had an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company, which I deeply regret,” Shell said in a statement Sunday.
“I’m truly sorry I let my Comcast and NBCUniversal colleagues down, they are the most talented people in the business and the opportunity to work with them the last 19 years has been a privilege.”
The shakeups even reached the White House with the departure of Susan Riec. Rice, a longtime advisor to both former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden, said she was “proud of all we have been able to accomplish together for the American people.”
“After more than two years of her steady leadership of the Domestic Policy Council — it’s clear: there is no one more capable, and more determined to get important things done for the American people than Susan Rice,” the White House said in a statement announcing Rice’s departure.
It was an unprecedented, dizzying string of shakeups that has forever changed the American media landscape.
