Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., has been demanding the impeachment of President Donald Trump ever since the president took office.
But it seems that Trump has finally broken Waters’ spirit. In a video posted online Monday, Waters is seen admitting that impeachment is very unlikely.
“Impeachment, of course, would have been my preference — but since we’ve not gotten there, I don’t know if we will be able to get there, despite the fact that six of our committees are investigating now,” Waters said in a 13-second clip.
The video quickly went viral.

This isn’t the only impeachment doubts that Waters has expressed recently.
In an appearance on MSNBC, Waters told liberal pundit Joy Reid that she doubted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s strategy because it’s not working against Trump.
“Well, I think the speaker certainly has to reconsider the leadership that she’s provided against impeachment,” Waters said.
“Yes, I think every time there’s a demonstration of an increased vote among her caucus of people who either… are moving toward impeachment inquiry, who have been away from the issue, who have not supported impeachment… at least they want to get into an impeachment inquiry.
“And I think [Pelosi] is going to have to reconsider it as the votes mount,” she said on MSNBC after Rep. Al Green’s House Resolution on impeachment failed in the House of Representatives, 332-95.
