Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election concluded Friday — and Democrats are scrambling to pick up the pieces of their shattered anti-Trump narrative.
Mueller reported to Attorney General William Barr that there is zero evidence that President Donald Trump colluded with Russia. One would think that the president not being a traitor would be well received by both sides of the political aisle.
But Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., didn’t handle the news well.

Mueller’s conclusions, summarized by Barr in a four page letter to Congress, represented a huge victory for Trump on a key question that has hung over his presidency from the start — whether his campaign worked with Russia to defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton.
The answer was exactly what The Horn News has reported since 2016: No.
That was further good news for the president on top of the Justice Department’s earlier announcement that Mueller had wrapped his investigation without new indictments. That could deflate the hopes of Democrats in Congress and on the 2020 campaign trail that incriminating findings from Mueller would hobble the president’s agenda and re-election bid.
The news caused Waters to suffer a reported meltdown.

In an appearance on MSNBC’s Joy Reid over the weekend, Waters loudly insisted that the Mueller report meant nothing.
“This is not the end of anything!” Waters said when asked about the report.
The California Democrat has been demanding the impeachment of Trump since the election. That effort suffered a serious blow on Friday, and Waters struggled to explain her next move.
“This is the… well, it’s the end of the report and the investigation by Mueller,” Waters admitted. “But those of us who chair these [Congressional] committees have a responsibility to continue with our oversight!”

In response to the Mueller report, Waters said she wants more investigations into the president.
“There’s so much that, uh, needs to be… you know, taken a look at at this point,” she said. “So, it’s not the end of everything.”
In 2017, Waters had put all her faith on Mueller and his investigation. She said he has a “sterling reputation” and she trusted that his “expertise” would find the “truth” for America.
“Mueller is going to win,” she once told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes.
