Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., has made a name for herself over the last two years by opposing anything (and everything) about President Donald Trump.
After being named “Most Corrupt Congressperson in America” multiple times under former President Barack Obama, Waters has successfully rebranded herself as a leader of the so-called anti-Trump “resistance.”
Instead of “Most Corrupt,” Democrats now call her “Auntie Maxine” — and she’s taking this surge in popularity to the next level.
Last Monday, Waters made an icy threat to Trump. She promised that Democrats would use every trick in the book to tangle up his administration in 2019.
Starting with tax returns audits.
“I’m not backing down from this fight,” Waters said at a Martin Luther King event in Missouri in early February, referring to her promise to oppose all-things Trump.
“You think I’m going to let you stand by… someone who’s done nothing but steal, and lie, and undermine,” she warned Trump. “We’re going to get your tax returns! We’re going to find out.”
Of course, expensive and time-consuming tax audits isn’t the only nasty trick Waters has planned for Trump.
Joined by two other senior House Democrats, Waters has demanded the White House turn over documents that would detail why certain financial sanctions have been lifted.
Waters, with Reps. Adam Schiff and Eliot Engel, told the Treasury Department in late January that they want a broad array of material that may range from secret intelligence reporting to other records such as meeting minutes and agendas, emails and texts, and calendar invitations regarding financial sanctions related to anything Russian-related.
It’s all part of a political tactic that’s taken front stage in Washington, D.C. since Democrats regained control of the House of Representatives — bogged down the White House with legal requests, subpoenas, tax audits, etc.
The goal is simple: undermine Trump and tie up his administration in lawsuits and paperwork.
And liberal voters love it.

The establishment hates Trump and his promise to drain the swamp.
Corrupt career politicians like Waters especially hates his no-holds-bar style.
She’ll do everything in her power to undermine his administration, rather than work with the president.
