Massive new Epstein files trove released

The Department of Justice released nearly 30,000 more documents related to disgraced pedophile Jeffrey Epstein on Monday morning, three days after the legally mandated Friday deadline passed.

The DOJ said it is releasing the files out of a “commitment to the law and transparency.”

The documents were released with legally required protections for the victims of Epstein, the DOJ added.

The Monday release follows a slow release of thousands of documents and photos on Friday that provided very little new information about Epstein’s criminal activities and relationship with numerous powerful global elites.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed by Trump earlier this year, mandated the release of all documents related to Epstein’s criminal investigations by December 19. The DOJ missed that deadline, and has been slowly releasing files in batches.

The DOJ released a statement with the latest release explaining that some of the claims in the files were unsubstantiated.

The Department of Justice has officially released nearly 30,000 more pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Some of these documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election. To be…

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., blasted the slow release and pointed out the law’s requirement that all files be released “not later than 30 days after the date of enactment of this act.”

“The victim’s lawyers have been in contact with me, and collectively they know there are at least 20 names of men who are accused of sex crimes in the possession of the FBI. These would reside in the FD 302 forms,” Massie said.

Friday’s initial release included thousands of pages of documents and photographs. Among the newly released materials were several never-before-seen photographs of former President Bill Clinton with convicted sex offenders Epstein and his madam Ghislaine Maxwell.

One image shows a shirtless Clinton in a jacuzzi next to a young woman whose face is redacted. A Justice Department spokesperson said the redacted person is a victim of Epstein’s sexual abuse. There are additional photos of Clinton swimming in a pool with Maxwell.

Another photograph shows Clinton holding a drink and standing next to Epstein. It is unclear where or when these photographs were taken.

“President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York,” Angel Urena, a spokesperson for Clinton, said in a statement.

Flight logs released in the documents show Clinton flew on Epstein’s private plane 26 times. Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for recruiting and grooming underage girls whom Epstein sexually abused, was listed as a passenger on each of those trips. Clinton’s last known trip on Epstein’s plane was in November 2003.

Among the thousands of documents released were photos of pop icon Michael Jackson standing next to Epstein. Another photo released shows Clinton with his arm around Jackson, with Supremes singer Diana Ross to their right. Epstein is not pictured in that photograph.

The release also included photographs showing schoolgirl uniforms. One costume says “Baby” and “Cry” across two front pockets. Other images show items including condoms and several costumes.

Among the files are hundreds of pages of thumbnail photographs, along with images of accompanying CD and DVD discs. Many of the photos include Epstein and Maxwell both individually and together.

The release included an FBI document that described a 1996 criminal complaint against Epstein related to child pornography. The complainant’s name is redacted in the document, but victim Maria Farmer confirmed to media outlets that the complaint was made by her.

“I’m just really grateful. I’m finally able to be vindicated. I feel redeemed. And I’m slightly shocked that they’ve released anything. I didn’t expect it,” Farmer said.

However, 119 pages labeled as grand jury materials in the Friday release are completely redacted.

Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., who co-sponsored the Epstein Files Transparency Act, said there was still information being withheld.

“There’s a draft indictment of the first Jeffrey Epstein case that really implicates other rich and powerful men who knew about the abuse or participated in it. That indictment should be released,” Khanna said.

“There are witness interviews between the FBI and other people who were accused of being at Jeffrey Epstein’s rape island or going to parties where there were 16 and 17-year-old girls being paraded around, those witness memorandums need to be released,” Khanna said.

At least 15 files that were initially released Friday disappeared from the Justice Department’s website, including one file that shows a photograph of President Trump. The Justice Department said the image was temporarily removed, among others, to determine whether more information needed to be redacted to protect Epstein’s victims.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the Department of Justice temporarily removed the image for further review. After the review, it was determined there is no evidence that any Epstein victims are depicted in the photograph, and it has been reposted without any alteration or redaction,” the department said in a statement.

Trump has not been accused of any wrongdoing or charged with any crimes in connection with Epstein.

Marina Lacerda, an Epstein accuser, criticized the massive amount of redactions in the released files.

“Who are we trying to protect? Are we protecting survivors or are we protecting these elite men that need to be put out there? And people need to know these are predators that are in the files. I feel like again the DOJ, the justice system is failing us,” Lacerda said.

Trump called on the Justice Department in November to investigate politicians, financial institutions, and anyone on Epstein’s client list.

“I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
