Major conservative ditches GOP over Trump

June 27, 2016 By: Stephen Dietrich

Conservative columnist George Will has parted ways with the Republican Party, changing his voter registration to “unaffiliated” because of the GOP’s support of Donald Trump.

Will tells The Washington Post that he made the change several weeks ago. The news site PJ Media reports that Will discussed his decision during an event Friday for the conservative group the Federalist Society.

Will isn’t saying whom he will support for president. He has been criticizing the billionaire businessman for months in his column for the Post and, in doing so, has drawn Trump’s scorn.

Recently, Will wrote a column in which he urged Republican donors to “save their party by not aiding its nominee.”

Will received a Pulitzer Prize for commentary in 1977 and has been a leading conservative voice for decades.

The Associated Press contributed to this article.

George Will must be angry because Trump is worth so much more. George is part of the old GOP and should retire.

George Will, A Republican????, therefore is giving his vote to Hillary!!!!! Disgusting. Makes me very ANGRY
that any Republican would vote for Hillary and not Trump. How fickle. You are not a Republican if you vote for Hillary I LOSE ALL respect
for such people who will not be loyal to the party’s nominee. How smug, self-righteous this behavior is.
And if anyone is a turncoat, DON’T broadcast it.
NOW we really get to know who the true Republicans are.

Ditto that, Texas Mak. I sometimes agreed with Will on some things but he always seemed to have a Liberal side, too.

Anyone that can’t see what’s being done to this great country, needs too part ways. Clinton and Obama are a menace to this country and to themselves. They have lost or never had a realization of this great country. They used, abused, lied and stole from everyone of the working class of people. It’s about time for them and their followers to be sent packing from the government by, we the people. It’s we the people, it will always be, we the people and not the government.

George Will is the victim of his own view of his self worth. He has, for some time now, been the voice of the “Everything is just fine, stay the course” group. His commentary is stale and represents the reason we have the likes of, McCain, McConnell and their ilk.
His withdrawal from the GOP is a welcome decision among the middle class. I hope you find a more suitable medium to spew your insults, try MSNBC.

He works for the Washington Post and he quit the Republican Party. This just tells me that he was a Commieonazicrat all along. It doesn’t matter because the Republican Party is disintegrating anyway. They stand for nothing. It is time for a new party that has true conservative values and is composed of people that are not afraid to fight.

I’m not a Trump fan, but in this election we have two choices. Donald Trump will be far closer to a conservative than Hillary Clinton will be. The next president is likely to nominate four or five justices to the Supreme Court. I don’t want Hillary making the picks. She will definitely not put conservatives on the Court. She will put people on the Court who ignore the Constitution and use the bench for judicial activism.

He wants us to save the party? He is truly delusional. It’s the country that needs to be saved and that means Trump is the only viable option. Time for the brain dead and clearly jealous Republican party to get on board or get ready for Hilda beast and the end of the bill of rights starting with the second amendment.

What old George says might sound good but stop to think about it. If you don’t rally around the Republican Party and try to keep it in tact by improving the quality of people you elect then the Democrats rule forever. Hate them if you want (and I do), you have to agree that they stick together like two big a$$ cheeks. They are evil, but they stand in force. If the GOP tries to split off and reorganize another party, or fraction thereof, Hillary gets in and OUR COUNTRY WILL NEVER RECOVER. We have made it thru nearly 8 years of Obama and we are on the cusp of being a socialist/communist country. Even four years of Hillary will kill the U.S. let alone if she ended up serving eight years. The Dem’s have the upper hand because they are united while everyone complains that Trump will destroy the country. How do we know? We don’t. Rather give a rookie like him a chance and see what we might get than put Hillary in the oval office and you KNOW what you will get. People are just too stupid to see that. Hillary’s experience. What experience????? she has fu#cked up everything she ever touched. So why do we have Republicans that won’t stand behind Trump??? Because they are cry babies. They didn’t get their man elected so they hate Trump. Elections are the result of people’s voice. Trump won, like it or not, so get over it and support him for at least one term and see how it goes. Take the George Will’s and the Karl Rove’s of the world and let them take a flying fu#k off a rolling donut.

Good bye George, we don’t need you anyway, but folks we do need each other and like many of you I thought of leaving the Republican Party, but I have since made some adjustments to that thought. The more party’s we have to contend with only adds to the confusion that we already have. It is obvious that the majority of the American people want the same thing and that being, we want our Country back. The Republican Party used to be the party of the people, but some how they lost that rapport. Therefore, what we need to do is take our party back before we can hope to take our Country back! Think about it…… There were a multitude of Democrats and Republicans who have banded together for one reason and that reason is not the man Donald Trump, but because of the message he portends. It will be We The People that makes America great again, Donald Trump is only the vessel that we intend to use and trust to get the job done. People! The Republican Party is OUR Party, not Mitt Romneys! And if they want to rebel against We The People, then let them go ahead, but we want our Party Back to where it is supposed to be!………. In the hands of the people!

Wasn’t George Will the one who said he could tell that Obama would be a great President “due to the crease in his slacks?”

    WHAT AN IDIOT.

Good riddance George, AND DON’T COME BACK! “Major Conservative” my @ss.

I surely wish I had known about these adolescence so called members of the Republican Party, years ago. I surely would not wasted my time and effort voting for them. George even looks like a spoiled brat. Let them all go……and don’t let them come back.
