Pop superstar icon Katy Perry is an outspoken liberal who unflinchingly backed former Secretary of State Hilly Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
But her father?
Not so much.
In fact, Keith Hudson is a Pentecostal preacher and reportedly a President Donald Trump voter.
And because pop megastar Perry still loves her father, she’s under attack online.
Perry — being a supportive daughter — promoted her father’s idea for a new clothing brand celebrating America. Hudson took to Twitter to unveil his patriotic endeavor, “Nothing But American.” The clothing brand is aimed toward putting differences between Democrats and Republicans aside, and instead embracing one another for American values.
Perry, who has more than 100 million followers on Twitter, posted the promotional video to her account for exposure. She admitted that while she and her father don’t always see eye to eye, she’s proud of him for creating a clothing line.

The call for unity fell on deaf ears.
At first, many of her fans thought someone had hacked into her account and posted the advertisement.
But the comments at their worst were downright cruel.
“Pls delete even your fans can’t defend this anymore,” one social media user wrote.

A person simply going by “Jules,” wrote, “Girl I love you but this ain’t it. Saying we shouldn’t be divided isn’t gonna change anything until the republicans realize they vote against human rights. We can’t say we’re all Americans like we’re equal when the other side doesn’t want equality.”

Another user named “felipe,” attacked Perry for abusing her “privilege.”
He wrote:
“you need to realize it is YOUR PRIVILEGE being able to speak to your family even if they are republicans or conservatives. most of us feel threatened by those people so thats why you need to stop to spread the “love your conservative parents” propaganda.

It’s worth noting that in the video, Hudson clearly states that the clothing brand is strictly non-partisan. But it seems that online liberals glossed over that fact…
