“On the Holmes Front,” with Frank Holmes
Normal Americans and the liberal coastal elite have one thing in common: For the most part, they’ve spent the pandemic at home. But that’s where the similarities end.
While Americans are stuck at home binge-watching “Tiger King” and worrying where their next paycheck will come from, Hollywood and liberal lawmakers are living in the lap of luxury — usually at taxpayer expense.
Take Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., for instance.
She represents two of New York City’s boroughs, the Bronx and part of Queens. Even in 2018 — during the boom years of Trump’s economy — the median household income was $60,173. AOC’s congressional salary of $174,000 is almost three times that much (not counting unbelievable perks, and the best benefits package and retirement plan your tax dollars can buy.)
And unlike real Americans, politicians’ checks keep coming whether they’re “working” or not.
When the government told everyone to shelter in place over the coronavirus, she had no complaints.
AOC lives in one of Washington’s ritziest districts, where a studio apartment goes for $2,000 a month — and we’re pretty sure she and her boyfriend don’t live in a studio apartment. It’s been called “the coolest neighborhood in the world.”
Her apartment has “an indoor pool, rooftop pool, rooftop dog park, Peloton cycling studio, yoga studio, private massage rooms with hydromassage beds, a golf simulator, basketball court, racquetball court, and rooftop tennis court,” The Washington Free Beacon reported.
It’s so cozy that she’s decided she’s going to stay there… not in her congressional district, with all the poor, out-of-work people she talks about during her speeches, even though her district is one of the epicenters of coronavirus in the world.
“Why is she in D.C. when Congress isn’t in session?” asked the woman running against her in the Democratic primaries, Michelle Caruso-Cabrera.
“I have seen the lines outside drug stores, grocery stores, and hospitals… Every day I see the looks in people’s eyes,” said the former CNBC reporter. “AOC is not seeing those looks because she is not here.”
Not that this is new for the diva of democratic socialism. Ocasio-Cortez’s travel budget for going back home and meeting with her constituents is the lowest of any member of Congress in New York.
Then there’s Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.
The path to the Democratic presidential nomination is clear ahead of him, now that Bernie Sanders has called it quits and gone back to one of his three houses with his $1.7 million.
But Bernie’s three homes are nothing next to the palaces where “Middle-Class Joe” lives.
He and his wife, Jill, owned two waterfront mansions… but decided after the end of the Obama administration that wasn’t enough.
Now, they’re paying $20,000 a month in rent on an extravagant mansion in the D.C. suburb of MacLean, Virginia.
Their newest castle is 12,000 square feet and has five bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a gourmet chef’s kitchen, and a parking lot that will hold 20 cars.
You might not see all that in the basement videos he’s recording for TV.
Even that is nothing next to Hollywood’s elite. They think they’re showing “solidarity” with America’s working people by posting pictures with no make-up and singing John Lennon’s socialist anthem “Imagine” off-key.
“No politician can unify people in the way that ‘Imagine’ video seems to have united every single person against it,” said comedian Josh Gondelman.
Alyssa Milano came close. While she’s huddled in her mansion–protected by armed guards inside a gated community–she lectures Americans that they should “keep each other safe by social distancing and washing our hands and not bringing dangerous firearms into our homes.”
Americans bought over 2 million firearms in March of 2020, over a million more than this time last year. We have to keep each other safe by social distancing and washing our hands and not bringing dangerous firearms into our homes. #StopTheCoronavirusGunSurge #NoRA pic.twitter.com/O5J98QXTFO

She can say that with a straight face, even though she confessed to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-T.X., last year, “I have two guns in my household for self-defense, just so you know.”
All of these liberal leaders have something in common, besides hypocrisy and self-indulgence. They couldn’t care less about the stress this puts on the average American.
They have no problem with “social distancing,” because they have the money, supplies, and status to ride out the “lockdown.” They talk about extending the economic shutdown until May, June, maybe for 18 months or more.
Meanwhile, almost 17 million Americans have filed for unemployment in just three weeks. Alcoholism, addiction, and domestic violence rates have skyrocketed.
And the average American now says his biggest fear isn’t dying of the coronavirus; it’s dying of starvation thanks to the economy.
That’s why the Trump administration is fighting to reopen the economy at their earliest possible opportunity.
And that’s why Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are fighting him all the way, slowing down recovery legislation to keep the economy afloat.
Some people have said the coronavirus is like biological warfare.
This is the elites’ economic warfare against middle-class America. And they think as long as they send us videos of them singing “Imagine,” we won’t notice.
