Ohio Gov. John Kasich is preparing to suspend his presidential campaign Wednesday, according to reports.
His withdrawal officially locks up the GOP nomination for businessman Donald Trump.
Kasich canceled a press conference in Virginia and plans to make the statement from Columbus, a day after one of his last remaining rivals, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, ended his campaign.
Kasich had been facing increasing pressure to drop out of the race to clear the path for Trump to win the nomination.
Kasich had planned fundraisers in the Washington, D.C., area Wednesday. He had planned to address reporters at Dulles Airport but his campaign says he will no longer be there.
