Former President Joe Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has landed a new job, and she’s doing something that’s completely out of the realm of journalism.
Jean-Pierre has been named the grand marshal of the upcoming NYC Gay Pride parade.
Jean-Pierre, who became the first openly gay White House Press Secretary, will be among those to head the “super woke” annual parade in June, according to a CBS report.
“It goes back to that trail-blazing career that she’s had in politics and representing the community at the highest microphone that exists,” NYC Pride spokesperson Chris Piedmont said of Jean-Pierre.
Jean-Pierre, 50 — who was also the first black woman to serve as press secretary — drew widespread criticism over her performance as the chief White House spokesperson in the Biden administration.
Jean-Pierre repeatedly defended President Biden’s mental fitness and acuity, despite a clear and noticeable degradation of the former President’s mental faculties.
Last June, she dismissed videos of Biden wandering around aimlessly at the G7 Summit as “cheap fakes,” accusing media outlets reporting on the video of deceptive editing.
She took over the role from Jen Psaki in early 2022 and served until Biden left the White House in January.
She admitted in an interview with People last month that she didn’t miss being in the political spotlight.
“It was an honor and a privilege to have the job and to have done it for two and a half years, but I don’t miss it,” she said.
Jean-Pierre said her months since leaving the White House had involved “self-care, sleep, hanging out with my family, hanging out with my friends.”
As previously reported by The Horn News, Jean-Pierre’s prospects of diving back into the world of journalism and media took a hit after Biden left office.
Many insiders assumed that after leaving The White House, Jean-Pierre would follow in the steps of past press secretaries and become a panelist on a mainstream news network.
“She’ll go where all the other failed Hollywood actors go when they’re useless to the deep state: a cable chat show that exclusively exists to sell weird books and products to lonely women,” media veteran Kay Hill said.
NewsBusters Managing Editor Curtis Houck agreed, saying “I fully anticipate someone will hire her as a contributor, whether it be a return to MSNBC or even CNN.”
Jean-Pierre’s predecessor, Jen Psaki, left the Biden White House in 2022 to host her own show “Inside with Jen Psaki” on MSNBC.
However, Houck noted that KJP’s notorious propensity for bending the truth could actually disqualify her from landing a TV gig.
“In a merit-based world, Karine Jean-Pierre would be unemployable in TV news,” Houck said.
Though others suggested that this quality might make her a perfect person to be on TV.
“KJP was so dumb, so dishonest, and so bad at her job that I can only assume she’ll have a show on CBS News next year,” Mollie Hemingway, a best-selling author and editor-in-chief of The Federalist said.
Scott Jennings, a popular conservative commentator on CNN and new member of the LA Times editorial board, also agreed, saying she kept Joe Biden’s cognitive decline under wraps.
“Where do you go to wash off the catastrophic amount of lying she did to the American people about Biden’s condition?”
“She’s at the center of the biggest scandal going in American politics,” he concluded.
