Former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, was accused of sexual assault by a former aide in January.
And among the major news networks, there hasn’t been a single mention.
Tara Reade, a former staffer, came forward this year and claimed that Biden sexually assaulted in 1993 at a gym in the Capitol.
However, the same mainstream media that once put Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh through a gauntlet of criticism over unfounded allegations has turned a blind eye to the Biden accusation.
After being harassed when she first came forward with allegations that Biden acted inappropriately towards her last year, Reade sought help from the liberal non-profit Times Up Legal Defense in January.
She was turned down.
According to Reade’s interviewer, Katie Halper, the organization — founded to further the #MeToo movement that coined the phrase “Believe all women” — worried about involving itself in Democratic politics.
Reade supports Sen. Benrie Sanders, I-V.T. — Biden’s chief rival — for president.
The program director at the National Women’s Law Center, Ellie Driscoll, told Reade in a letter that she “wanted to let you know that after our conversation I talked further with our Director, Sharyn Tejani, about our ability to offer funding or public relations support in your case. Unfortunately, the Fund’s decision remains the same.
“Please know how much I appreciate your courage in speaking out and appreciate what you shared over the phone, that you are speaking out so that your daughter and other young people can start their careers free of harassment,” the letter said.
Beyond legally ignored, Reade has also received no attention from the same media that dragged Kavanaugh through the mud.
Besides select conservative media outlets like The Horn News and pro-Sanders media outlets like DemocracyNow!, Reade’s story has been almost completely ignored.
At the time this article was published, The Intercept and The Hill remain the only major news outlets to have covered the story.
CNN, MSNBC, NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and even Fox News have completely ignored her story.
So much for “believe all women.”
Believe all women… unless it hurts the Democrats, it seems.
