Vice President Kamala Harris’ job isn’t secure, according to a new book — and President Joe Biden had to be pressured into naming her as his running mate during the 2020 election.
Biden reportedly believes Harris is “not up for the job” and preferred Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
According to veteran political journalist Charlie Spiering’s new book “Amateur Hour: Kamala Harris in the White House,” former President Barack Obama leaned on Biden to name Harris as his running mate.
Harris is “a brain stroke away from the presidency,” and it troubles Biden. The vice president’s “many struggles and mistakes during her first years in office were top of mind” heading into his re-election battle with former President Donald Trump.
Biden reportedly thinks Harris is a bully that refuses “to be a team player” and undermines his administration, Spiering claimed.
Harris is a “hilarious, incompetent, trailblazing radical” that had a “disastrous and comical first years as vice president” and her “artificial” demeanor doesn’t play well with voters.
Among Democrats, a “popular parlor game” heading into Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign is, “How do you fix Kamala Harris?”
According to FiveThirtyEight polling averages, Harris has a 37.5 percent approval rating among American voters but a 53.5 percent disapproval rating.
