Joe Biden to ink massive post-presidency payday (on your dime!)

Former President Joe Biden’s cushy retirement is going just fine.

And it’s about to get even more comfortable thanks to the findings of a little-known government loophole that could pay Biden a massive payday at the expense of taxpayers.

According to new reports, The National Taxpayer Union Foundation estimates that Biden could be collecting up to a $417,000 pension — more than he was making a year as president, and more than previous presidents — thanks to collecting pensions from several retirement programs he qualifies for after starting his career in Washington in the 1970s.

Biden is technically eligible to receive the massive pension benefits under the Former President’s Act of 1958, and retirement benefits from the Civil Service Retirement System for his time as a senator AND vice president — which dates back to 1972 when Biden first became a Senator.

According to National Taxpayer Union Foundation President Demian Brady, The Former President’s Act of 1958 stipulates that presidential pensions are equal to the salaries Cabinet secretaries receive, which is currently set at $250,600.

Brady also noted that Biden could be also eligible for up to $166,374 for his time as a senator and vice president under the Civil Service Retirement System.

“It’s pretty unusual, historically unusual, to have such a large pension amount,” said Brady.

Biden began his career as a U.S. senator in 1972, and served as former President Barack Obama’s vice president for eight years starting in 2009.

Biden earned $400,000 a year annually while president.

Reports are unclear if Biden will actually cash in on all of those benefits as a spokesperson for Biden did not immediately respond to a request for comment at the time of publication.

The news of Biden’s potential massive pension payout comes after The Horn News reported last year that Biden was also demanding massive six-figure paydays just to speak at events.

According to reports and public disclosures, Biden’s windfalls included $190,000 to speak at Drew University in New Jersey; $182,000 from Lake Michigan College, a community college; $180,000 to appear at Vanderbilt University; $180,000 to speak at the University of Buffalo; $125,000 to visit Southern Connecticut State University; $100,000 to speak at Long Island University, and $93,000 to visit Brown University.

However, additional reports have surfaced that while Biden is collecting (and potentially set to collect) massive personal paydays, his post-presidential projects are bleeding money, including Biden’s effort to build a presidential library in Delaware that is facing serious financial difficulties.

His foundation has managed to raise only a fraction of what is needed to construct the project – and one top Democrat said Biden will be lucky to even get a “bookmobile” out of donors.

The Joseph R. Biden Jr. Presidential Library Foundation told the Internal Revenue Service it expects to raise just $11.3 million by the end of 2027, far below the $200 million goal.

IRS filings show the foundation did not receive any new donations in 2024, Biden’s final year in office. The organization was seeded solely with $4 million in leftover funds from Biden’s 2021 inauguration.

The foundation declined to say how much it raised in 2025, and claimed Biden is only beginning to actively raise money for the project. Biden held his first event for potential library donors in December 2025 in Washington’s Georgetown neighborhood.
