Jasmine Crockett claps, laughs at idea of Trump unhealthy

Rep. Jasmine Crockett laughed and clapped when she joked about President Donald Trump becoming disfigured and his hand falling off during a podcast interview Wednesday.

Crockett, who never openly criticized former President Joe Biden’s declining mental health, said it was time to invoke the 25th Amendment because of Trump’s vein issues.

The Texas Democrat made the comments on the “Grounded” podcast while discussing Trump’s health and fitness for office.

“I don’t know. Donald Trump hand look like it’s about to fall off,” Crockett said, laughing and clapping. “But no, in all seriousness though, I do think that we should have a reasonable conversation about what the 25th means and whether or not [Trump] is physically capable of serving, as well as — I’ve already decided that he is mentally incapable.”

“But clearly enough people are not listening to me when I say that [Trump] doesn’t have the mental capacity.”

Crockett’s attacks come amid ongoing Democratic speculation about Trump’s health after images circulated showing bruising on his hands and swollen legs.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in July that Trump has a minor medical condition — chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting blood flow in the veins.

The congressman’s remarks follow a pattern of escalating attacks on Trump’s fitness for office from Democrats and media figures.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz appeared to wish death upon Trump during a Labor Day picnic Monday, telling supporters there might be “news” about the president.

“You get up in the morning and you doom scroll through things and although I will say this, you woke up the last few days thinking there might be news,” Walz said. “Just saying, just saying. There will be news sometime, just so you know. There will be news.”

Former “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd made similar health conspiracy claims about Trump on his podcast Monday, despite saying in the past that journalists who speculated about Biden’s mental health should be “shamed out of doing it.”

“The lack of transparency on his health — what is going on? Why are both of his hands bruised?” Todd asked. “He’s likely taking some medication that is creating what are potentially visible signs of bruising or the appearance of bruising, which is just a side effect of a drug he may be taking in order to minimize the possibility of a stroke or a heart attack. But there’s clearly some health issues. We’ve seen the ankles. We’ve seen these pictures. Something is afoot.”

Last weekend, online rumors among liberals claimed Trump was “dead” after he went several days without holding press conferences following his marathon cabinet meeting on August 26.

The rumors only dispelled when Trump held a White House press conference Tuesday.

Crockett has a history of inflammatory rhetoric toward Trump. She previously called him “a piece of s***” and claimed anyone who supports him is “sick.”

In a June podcast interview with Katie Couric, Crockett said Trump supporters suffered from mental health issues and that “everyone, no matter how you affiliate yourself, should be against Trump. Period.”

And the Texas lawmaker recently appeared on California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s podcast, where she called Trump and his supporters “the most unpatriotic people” in the country and accused the president of “decimating” the Constitution.

The 25th Amendment allows for the removal of a president who is unable to discharge the duties of office. It requires the vice president and a majority of cabinet members to declare the president unfit, or a two-thirds vote by both houses of Congress.
