J.K. Rowling has been notoriously anti-President Donald Trump, consistently attacking him on Twitter for his proposed policies.
But her most recent attack seriously backfired.
Rowling took it upon herself to determine that Trump had dismissed a three-year-old disabled boy when he tried to shake the presidents hand. But she was proven completely wrong by none other than the boys mother.
The boy’s mother, Marjorie Kelly Weer, posted on Facebook: “Trump didn’t snub my son & Monty wasn’t even trying to shake his hand.”
Kelly Weer was responding to a series of now deleted tweets sent out by Rowling Friday that read, “Now he pretends not to see a child in a wheelchair, as though frightened he might catch his condition.”
She continued, “This monster of narcissism values only himself and his pale refplections. The disabled, minorities, transgender people, the poor, women… (unless related to him by ties of blood, and therefore his creations) are treated with contempt, because they do not resemble Trump.”
Rowling, who has often criticized Trump, said she “apologized unreservedly.” She tweeted Monday:

to that boy or his family, I apologise unreservedly. These tweets will remain, but I will delete the previous ones on the subject. /4x
