A “hot mic” moment during a recent press conference at the White House shows exactly what Americans need to know about media’s relationship with President Donald Trump.

Trump’s briefing was “weird as sh*t” according to one reporter.

The president appeared to discuss the Dow Jones Industrial Average’s recent surge past 30,000 points. He called the moment historic in an abbreviated press conference, and left without taking questions.

“I just want to congratulate everybody. The stock market, Dow Jones Industrial Average just hit 30,000, which is the highest in history,” Trump said in the briefing room.

“We’ve never broken 30,000, and that’s despite everything that’s taken place with the pandemic. The stock market’s just broken 30,000 — never been broken, that number,” he said. “That’s a sacred number, 30,000, and nobody thought they’d ever see it.”

“I just want to congratulate all the people within the administration that worked so hard, and most importantly I want to congratulate the people of our country, because there are no people like you,” Trump said. “Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you.”

As he left, reporters shouted questions about his potential concession to Democrat Joe Biden, which the president didn’t answer.

“Well, that was weird as sh*t,” one reporter says.

Another can be heard saying it was “one of the stranger” briefings he’d ever seen.
