Hillary Clinton’s ‘vile’ D-Day will stun you

On Thursday, the Allied nations observed the 80th anniversary of D-Day. In June 1944, hundreds of thousands of soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy and launched the largest invasion in the history of naval warfare.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — a career diplomat — released a statement for the occasion. The twice-failed candidate for president used the occasion to compare her base to the Allied soldiers.

“Eighty years ago today, thousands of brave Americans fought to protect democracy on the shores of Normandy,” Clinton told her 31 million followers on Tuesday. “This November, all we have to do is vote.”

Clinton faced wide mockery for comparing her political opponents to Adolf Hitler’s administration in Germany.

“What an enormously stupid and vile comment. Trump is not Hitler,” conservative commentator Ben Shapiro tweeted. “Voting is not storming a beach under a hail of machine-gun fire to free millions from the tyranny of the Nazis.”

“These Dems couldn’t be more dramatic and deranged. They’re comparing storming the beaches of Normandy on #dday to voting against Trump,” Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Al., tweeted.

“How disrespectful to our WWII heroes who faced unimaginable fear with immense courage 80 years ago today,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., added.

Even after all this backlash, Clinton neglected to delete the tweet.

Clinton has compared Trump to Hitler before. She shared an Associated Press story about a bad tweet by the Trump campaign, and she added, “Take a look at Grifter Hitler over here.”

The Trump campaign has hit back. In a Thursday statement to Fox News, spokesperson Steven Cheung accused Clinton of “beclowning herself in order to stay relevant after President Trump crushed her in 2016.”

Trump said in a Fox News interview Sunday that he’s the “opposite” of a threat to democracy. Conservatives have long described Clinton’s sore loser syndrome as its own threat to democracy.
