He’s no criminal genius! “Affluenza” teen busted after ordering pizza

Authorities in Mexico say a phone call to Domino’s Pizza helped them find a teen fugitive who’s known for using an “affluenza” defense.

Ethan Couch, now 18, was placed on probation in Texas after a deadly drunken driving wreck. He fled the U.S. with his mother as authorities began investigating whether he violated terms of his sentence.

According to a police report issued by the Jalisco state prosecutors’ office, the Couches used one of their phones to order pizza for a room at a condominium in the beach resort city of Puerto Vallarta. A U.S. Marshals Service agent tipped authorities in Mexico about the location of the phone on Monday.

Couch and his mother weren’t at the condo, but agents learned of their new location. Agents spotted them that night.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Of course he violated his probation. He is a spoiled brat, who does not think the rules apply to him. I have a stepdaughter who thinks the same way, only she is not rich, so she will be doing jail time soon, and it is breaking her father’s heart. These kids are sociopaths, and we must take responsibility for “raising these vegetables” as my mother used to say.( I got spanked with great regularity, so there was none of that crap in my upbringing.) He needs to go to big boy prison, along with his mother. Doubtful that there will be a change of heart for these, unless GOD Himself intervenes with them, and that is what we are praying for. Unless we raise our children to respect authority, they will never be good citizens. It will always be ALL about THEM. They must learn as little ones, how to follow rules, and obey parents, then they move up to respecting teachers, then on to bosses. I fear they will have a very difficult life if those lessons are not learned. Basic psychology, folks.

when the democrats took God, respect, the constitution, and common sense out of the schools what did anyone expect? this started in 1960 or maybe earlier I’m not sure but that’s when I noticed it. then when they made the schools a “gun” free zone they made it a free fire zone. when I was a kid we regularly took a rifle to school in Nevada and shot rabbits on the way home. my Grand mother made a great rabbit stew. when I came home I’d skin and clean the bunny’s hide stretch it and in the winter I had nice fur lined gloves. but we as a society don’t allow such things. my youngest daughter thinks I’m too violent. maybe I am but it kept me alive in the marines (1965 – 1997) until I retired. GOD bless the USA and the USMC and I don’t care who tries to outlaw it!!

I agree with you 100%. The child-rearing practices in the U.S. have become too lenient. Parents are being brainwashed to be permissive and tolerant of inappropriate behavior. Ahh…You only deserve a “time out.” We wouldn’t want to damage their self esteem, would we?? The schools in the United States are a joke. No wonder we fall behind other nations in test scores. Teachers can longer discipline and have to put up with utter nonsense in their classrooms. They’re a zoo.

Students have to be entertained, bribed and accommodated left and right.

Hopefully this guy and his mom will both be able to call prison home for the next 10 years. This guy was given a big break after he killed 4 people while driving drunk. Hopefully the breaks are over for this guy. He may not learn the difference between right and wrong in prison but at least he will not be able to harm any more law-abiding citizens.

As a Texan, I have no sympathy for this young man and his mother. I felt his initial sentencing was too lenient, especially after what he had done. I am tired of excuses. There was no legitimate excuse for his behavior. I hope when they return to Texas, they “tighten the screws” this time.
